So gone are the days of "if you don't have something we think is a hit single, we're not putting it out"?
|

But by the same token Jon can take it elsewhere. I expect that Island have a contract with Bon Jovi which says that they get first refusal. There's nothing to stop Island saying, "it's great, but we need a hit, here's a song that we think would work really well at radio, how about going back in and recording this." The difference is that now Jon can now say NO if he wants to. And then Universal can either take it as it is, or refuse it and let Jon take it to other labels... |

I think you are exaggerating a little bit. In general, I would say THINFS is a JBJ album (since there's no Richie and the demos are JBJ only) but then I would say THINFS is a JBJ/JS/DB album... About Rollercoaster, at the end... "This one was a big hit single in America" and if I remember correctly Rollercoaster was tagged like the metaphor for his own life... |

Speaking of Keep The Faith, Dry County is a perfect example of a JBJ song turned into a Bon Jovi song due to Richie... the guitar solo and harmonies on Bed Of Roses is another... so sure, Jon wrote the songs but Richie still helped shape them into Bon Jovi songs... I'm not negating Dave and Tico at all... They are important to the Bon Jovi sound but they are not nearly involved with writing, producing, harmonizing vocals, etc... The Born To Be My Baby video depicts the truth of Jon and Richie sitting behind the soundboard producing the track (yes, I'm aware that it's not the real recording but there but I do believe that's it). Tour Diary #9 - Warsaw & Werchter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qXC...=youtu.be&t=15 They clearly are showing the fun side of Bon Jovi in these videos. But after all the Europe shows press reviews it's time to start thinking in music, they're not fooling anyone, anymore... |

I haven't watched the video, but while we're on the subject, I can't understand why they're playing this song this tour.
It's well established that the European crowds do not care for the country era of Bon Jovi. Jon plays certain songs for himself, that's fine, I can accept that. But if you're gonna play a country song in the set, why not just do Who Says You Can't Go Home in that spot? It's actually somewhat of a hit, even in Europe, people know it and some people like it. The vocal difficulty for me seems similar in both songs. But hey, it's Jon, his inability to make wise set decisions is well documented. |

Lol... Are you serious? A couple months ago the promoter of the Peru concert said in an interview that without sponsors our concert would be impossible, that the first time (2010) we could expect a full house but this time (second) we can only expect half house. With sales of tickets only would be impossible. But however, Bon Jovi is selling well... and that JBJ makes a long concert, has good sound and good production and that justifies his price (which is the same regardless it’s his first time or second time in our country). He also talked about the radios that don’t make any promotion ‘cause nobody listen these kind rock bands anymore, I don’t listen radio years ago and from what I heard there’s only one radio that put Bon Jovi and they’re actually sponsoring, the thing is that most peruvians probably only knows very well Bad Name, Always, Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado and It’s My Life. So when they listen this kind of songs like Lost Highway and Whole Lot Of Leavin’ they are basically in shock, specially when they sells Bon Jovi like a “rock band” and now with the Rock Hall of Fame and all that stuff. I noticed that the recent European setlists were somewhat better in my opinion ‘cause there weren’t too often to none Who Says You Can’t Go Home, We Got Going On, Because We Can, I Love This Town and even sometimes Whole Lot Of Leavin’, and there were more often These Days, I’ll Be There For You, In These Arms, Have A Nice Day, I’d Die For You; so if JBJ decides delete forever from the setlist that horrible combo Lost Highway/ Whole Lot Of Leavin’ and replace with any songs (let’s say Bounce/The Circle/Burning Bridges songs or any rarity) it would be one of his best decisions ever! And I know we talked about this a million times, but I just hate those songs... lol. |

Lost Highway, Whole Lot Of Leavin' or We Weren't Born To Follow?
We Weren't Born To Follow is less ugly... But when you have so awesome songs, to play and post a youtube video of this, it's kinda laughable |
Speaking of Lost Highway...

-_- I just like this song. And some more of Burning Bridges... If the song is really good, JBJ’s voice is not really bad... right? >_< |
