That quote has been blown out of complete proportion.

If Jon didn't want that shown, it would not have been in the documentary. He came across as exactly that - a douche.

Cheese comes from the term "Government Cheese" but in slang its refer to the "MONEY". cuz that's what you both get at the welfare line. but it is used to mean "Money" for anything.

this is an old slang. a lot of old movies uses it.

"I lost my job. I need to find somewhere new to get my cheese".

EDIT: For some reason, I read 'Soupy's' entire rant with a gangster accent in my head LOL.

Thanks for clearing that one up. Hadn't heard it before either. Heard of "the old cheese" being the wife.

Absolutely! Jon was talking to investors in the football league, not to fans.

I didn't know that, but that makes sense - if you're persuading someone to spend a lot of money with you, and in this case I imagine it's millions, you can't be saying "yeah, gimme your money cause i'm a ****ing rock star!"

Finally, someone gets that scene!! It was clearly nothing to do with the music but the football team Soul. I'm sure that people who aren't fans of Jon/Bon Jovi have a preceded opinion of him as the long hair, pretty boy who sang Prayer, Bad Name etc etc. He was clearly trying to tell the guy, no matter what you think, I'm not that. I'm more than just a singer in a group blah blah blah. He was organizing a business with someone who had already formed an opinion on Jon.

This is not true. Jon agreed to air the movie as the director saw fit. Also, each member of the band didn't know what the others were saying.

Wrong. Jon absolutely had veto power. In fact, the original director of the documentary (Barbara Kopple), who was on tour with the band for many months working on the doc, was sent packing by Jon. I believe it was because she wanted control of what was going to be used in the film, but Jon refused.

I thought there was also a sort of tell all book that was canned for similar reasons?

Jon is aware of everything that has the Bon Jovi name on it. He wouldn't be a very good CEO if he didn't.

A guy was hired to write a book and thanked because not fitting ... his name was Ritz like the hotel ... David Ritz ... not clicking fine enough to work with Jon (a pro biographer)

Didn't David Ritz write a biography on Marvin Gaye some years ago?

Jon said it himself that he wasn't comfortable with it, but that was the director's condition (I'm talking about Phil Griffin)
