The first time Jon and Richie shared the stage in 19 months! And an absolute top-notch show! The setlist had a great flow and that IBTFY performance was so "basic" and pure, only to be topped by The Answer. I love all renditions of that song, but there was something here like an underlying deep sadness in Richie's voice. Hard to explain, but it hit even harder. And that jungle-like 10+ minute rendition of Undiscovered Soul wasn't too shabby either, just like the vocal battle with Crystal in Wanted. Man that solo band was something else! :)

...ah yeah, and Jon joined for the final two songs, including full ad-libs at the end of With A Little Help From My Friends!
New remaster!

Setlist:
01. Made In America [0:00]
02. If God Was A Woman [5:30]
03. Stranger In This Town [10:03]
04. Fallen From Graceland [16:49]
05. Bad Medicine [26:26]
06. I'll Be There For You [37:00]
07. The Answer [45:29]
08. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away (acoustic) [50:58]
09. In It For Love [54:40]
10. Undiscovered Soul [58:40]
11. Papa Was A Rollin' Stone (with band introductions) [1:09:23]
12. Hard Times Come Easy [1:16:33]
13. Midnight Rider [1:23:53]
14. Wanted Dead Or Alive [1:25:57]

Encore 1:
15. Get Back [1:32:52]
16. Livin' On A Prayer [1:38:27]

Encore 2:
17. With A Little Help From My Friends (with Jon Bon Jovi) [1:46:03]
18. Never Say Goodbye (with Jon Bon Jovi) [1:54:33]

I Believe (London 2008 ):

I personally prefer this quite a bit over Lisbon 2011 since he sounded so much better here. Actually my favourite post-2000 version next to Berlin 2000.
Shame he was so "occupied" with his CEO business at the time that the shows were played rather safe and Something To Believe In got skipped. Would've sounded killer that night, of that I'm sure!

I was at those two concerts in Twickenham and they were...underwhelming.

I love both for different reasons. Something about Lisbon 2011 version I've loved since day one but couldn't tell you exactly what it is as it's by no means the best version vocally.

Really? I have good memories of them. Some great performances. The sets could have been better though.

It was probably a matter of expectation. At that time the band was on fire and here were these two massive London concerts in a stadium they'd never played before. Expectations were huge and the two shows were pretty bog standard. Nothing terrible by any means but just vanilla.

I'd say it was both. Twickenham the first night was a spotless performance but no atmosphere whatsoever. Jon didn't give a **** and went through the motions all night long. The second night wasn't any better. Both shows were just...there. The highlight of that trip was hanging out in London after the second show and yet no one talked about the shows at all.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

A show I'd recommend to anyone in the mood of listening to the first two albums. Much better than Tokyo! And also a much more pure and raw sound than the sterile official mix. Newly remastered audience tape!
