I didnt realise youd already seen them this tour but after seeing them last night id definitely go again with or without RS. I just dont see him coming back tbh and i wouldnt give up on them if he didnt. Could have the best of both worlds one day,Jovi and Sambora tours to attend.

Most Bon Jovi fans only go see Sambora live because he's the guitarist of Bon Jovi. Once Sambora leaves Bon Jovi most will see no reason anymore to go visit any of his shows. There's not been any solo tour so far that actually made him any money.

For me that would be the case. There's just not that many solo songs of Riche I absolutely love. There's definitely a few, but if I was going to see any member of the band solo it would be Jon, because he wrote the songs that I fell in love with before I even knew there was a Bon Jovi.

Yeah, I know, and there's loads more like you. And to be honest, if his next solo project would be of similar quality like the last one I just can't see myself seeing multiple shows like I did last time. I spoke to other fans in Amsterdam who felt the same way.

Given up hope on Richie being at Hyde Park. IOW is arguably the more "special" date considering its history and the fact they've never played the festival before. If he was going to return it would surely be for that.

Seeing the JBJ ft Tico, Dave, Hugh, Bobby and Phil X show on Weds - if its any good I'll try and get cheap tickets on the day for Hyde Park. I'm certainly not paying full price for an incomplete band.

In answering fan questions, Phil X has said that he is "not a member of Bon Jovi", just filling in. Also, when asked if he was a permanent member of Bon Jovi he said "I'm just filling in and helping out." For what its worth. I still believe that at some point Richie will be back and that it isn't a problem with the band but actually a personal matter.

jessycardy 06-10-2013 10:23 PM

Just got on the computer. Wow, lots of stuff to catch up with here.

You're right, I don't know why Richie isn't there but I'm not judging him for it (or anyone else in the band for that matter), which I think is objective. And since I wasn't quick to judge, I'm not going to look like the asshole.

I absolutely agree with you. I don't understand how so many people seemed to miss your point completely. It's not about supporting Phil X, it's about taking sides, hating on Richie and kissing Phil's ass like a bunch of 3-year-olds. Pretty much the same thing that's going on with people hating on either Jon or Richie to kiss the other's ass. Pathetic.

Are you coming to Australia in Dec??

sorry, I don't know.

Richie may have to take care of a "personal matter" until December ?
what kind of personal matter is this ???
what is there to "resolve" ?

I think though its way too soon to know that anyway, it's 6mths away and I would hope ONE way or another by December we'd all know what Richie was actually doing.

I think its not over, I don't think they're done yet. The speculation has just made it worse, like a lot of people have said we don't know if all those tabloids had an inch of truth and we don't actually know why he left in the first place.

He's a hired hand. He's not going to divulge ANY info. If he did, He'd be replaced in a heartbeat. What he says doesn't give any insight.

This could be nothing related to Richie, or he could be coming back. What else would be defined huge news at this point?
Although it may well be a live broadcast of one of the festival gigs but we will see.

Walkerboy 06-11-2013 12:17 PM

Will just be Absolute confirming they are going to broadcast the Isle of Wight performance live.

KeepTheFaith2211 06-11-2013 12:21 PM

A live broadcast would be great.

Yvonne 06-11-2013 12:26 PM

Its something to do with the Isle of Wight as Absolute are sponsors.

Walkerboy 06-11-2013 12:30 PM

Would be better if Sky Arts were broadcasting whole gig at Isle of Wight live, rather than the 4 song highlights we are getting the weekend after.

Robd788 06-11-2013 12:30 PM

Not to sure, but don't they already say on the advert for the IOW festival that they will have highlights of Bon Jovi among other bands.

may be its just they will braodcast the entire gig.

BJ?YesPlease 06-11-2013 12:33 PM

I have absolutely nothing to support it (SHOCKER!) but my gut now tells me (Hey, it's as reliable as Matt or Obie....right?!) that it's nothing to do with alcohol, or parental responsibilities ... they've just fallen out.
Musical differences ... perhaps.
Who knows.
But my guess would be there was never a plan for a Richie to rejoin this tour.
Maybe it's all over, for now. Maybe it's not.
But it seems pretty clear they're leading the fans on by giving them false hope that he's going to show up at any point.

How far off am I?

Walkerboy 06-11-2013 12:57 PM

A furious Richie Sambora sent Jon Bon Jovi a terse three word email after the Bon Jovi frontman suggested he was unlike U2‘s The Edge and a replaceable guitarist — the latest salvo in the pair’s simmering feud.

“It read, ‘Hire The Edge,’” a source with knowledge of the missive told RadarOnline.com.

The email was in response to Jon’s May 20 interview when the 51-year-old suggested guitarist Sambora, 53, was easier to replace than the famed U2 guitarist.

Taking this with pinch of salt, seeing as this is from "a source".

Bon Jovi entire set Live exclusively on Absolute = TRUE

Bounce7800 06-11-2013 01:05 PM

The announcement was- full broadcast on Absolute Radio from Isle Of Wight.

Stand down.

I can almost see that this all started over something stupid and the plan was for Richie to go sulk a few days and get whatever he wanted. Jon being Jon dug in his heels and said MFer if you want back it is my way.

I remember reading Richie call the band a caste system - you knew your place and you never moved. The only way I see him back in is if he goes back to toeing the line. This will not stop the Bon Jovi machine - Jon has said numerous times he is a fighter and will not lay down and die and unless Tico and Dave mutiny Bon Jovi will have three members and Richie will be airbrushed out and *retire*

Maybe he and AJS can start a new band.

To me this is complete bullshit but I really hope it's true. This could escalate and we'll have Jon and Richie abusing each other in the press. This is rock and roll.

Look at the Gallaghers. Great musicians but the abuse they threw at each other is comical. Then again, they don't take themselves as seriously as Jon and Richie and that's reflected in the humour.

My hope is that this escalates in the press for several months culminating in a fight to the death.

At this point I think the two of them are entrenched in their positions - the key is Dave and Tico. If after the tour they stay on Team Jon then Richie is toast. If they pull back and say enough is enough then Jon is toast - you cannot have Bon Jovi with one person!

If Richie comes back during this tour it will be on Jon's terms. Luckily we know Richie is doing ****ing great!

And this is what it will all boil down to at the end. It will be sad if it is, but obviously something is going on behind the scenes and I doubt that we will ever know the full truth.

If Richie really sent the email it would have had misspellings and incorrect punctuation. :)

Meh, the gutter press is just as frustrated as we are (okay, not nearly AS much), so they're just trying to use what little juice they have from the past weeks to make a "new" headline, it's so obvious here. But hey, it got the thread going on for a few more posts.

Makes me want to cry. It's unsettling but perfect how you left the ending open like that.

wichi850262 06-11-2013 04:23 PM

If Richie has left because of disagreements on a personal or a musical level, then personally I'm glad. Bon Jovi has been on a slippery slope and has become rather boring and predictable. I hope it shakes things up and a) Bon Jovi return with a new breath of life or b) Sambora goes alone and does solo work, because AOAL is far superior than WAN.

An answer would be nice to put this thread to rest...

One_Wild_Carl 06-11-2013 04:29 PM

Well it is speculation but it would seem Jon and Richie fell out, I just wish they would sort it out and move forward from here, least Phil X is doing a good job filling in.

Becky 06-11-2013 05:10 PM

It's probably not true. I mean, what kind of leg would Richie have to stand on in firing back? He HAS been replaced at a moment's notice TWICE and the tours have gone on successfully without him. It's hard to take anything from an unnamed source as truth.

Yvonne 06-11-2013 05:14 PM

I'm waiting for the autobiographies of Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, then we may know
