Given up hope on Richie being at Hyde Park. IOW is arguably the more "special" date considering its history and the fact they've never played the festival before. If he was going to return it would surely be for that.
Seeing the JBJ ft Tico, Dave, Hugh, Bobby and Phil X show on Weds - if its any good I'll try and get cheap tickets on the day for Hyde Park. I'm certainly not paying full price for an incomplete band. |

In answering fan questions, Phil X has said that he is "not a member of Bon Jovi", just filling in. Also, when asked if he was a permanent member of Bon Jovi he said "I'm just filling in and helping out." For what its worth. I still believe that at some point Richie will be back and that it isn't a problem with the band but actually a personal matter.

Just got on the computer. Wow, lots of stuff to catch up with here.

@KatieNeocleous 7h
Are you coming to Australia in Dec?? @TheRealPhilX 7h sorry, I don't know. Richie may have to take care of a "personal matter" until December ? what kind of personal matter is this ??? what is there to "resolve" ? |

I think its not over, I don't think they're done yet. The speculation has just made it worse, like a lot of people have said we don't know if all those tabloids had an inch of truth and we don't actually know why he left in the first place. |

Missing three days in this thread is like missing a season of a TV show.

This could be nothing related to Richie, or he could be coming back. What else would be defined huge news at this point? Although it may well be a live broadcast of one of the festival gigs but we will see. |
Will just be Absolute confirming they are going to broadcast the Isle of Wight performance live.

A live broadcast would be great.
|
Its something to do with the Isle of Wight as Absolute are sponsors.
|
Would be better if Sky Arts were broadcasting whole gig at Isle of Wight live, rather than the 4 song highlights we are getting the weekend after.
|
Not to sure, but don't they already say on the advert for the IOW festival that they will have highlights of Bon Jovi among other bands.
may be its just they will braodcast the entire gig. |
I have absolutely nothing to support it (SHOCKER!) but my gut now tells me (Hey, it's as reliable as Matt or Obie....right?!) that it's nothing to do with alcohol, or parental responsibilities ... they've just fallen out.
Musical differences ... perhaps. Who knows. But my guess would be there was never a plan for a Richie to rejoin this tour. Maybe it's all over, for now. Maybe it's not. But it seems pretty clear they're leading the fans on by giving them false hope that he's going to show up at any point. How far off am I? |
A furious Richie Sambora sent Jon Bon Jovi a terse three word email after the Bon Jovi frontman suggested he was unlike U2‘s The Edge and a replaceable guitarist — the latest salvo in the pair’s simmering feud.
“It read, ‘Hire The Edge,’” a source with knowledge of the missive told RadarOnline.com. The email was in response to Jon’s May 20 interview when the 51-year-old suggested guitarist Sambora, 53, was easier to replace than the famed U2 guitarist. Taking this with pinch of salt, seeing as this is from "a source". |
Bon Jovi entire set Live exclusively on Absolute = TRUE
|
The announcement was- full broadcast on Absolute Radio from Isle Of Wight.
Stand down. |

I remember reading Richie call the band a caste system - you knew your place and you never moved. The only way I see him back in is if he goes back to toeing the line. This will not stop the Bon Jovi machine - Jon has said numerous times he is a fighter and will not lay down and die and unless Tico and Dave mutiny Bon Jovi will have three members and Richie will be airbrushed out and *retire* Maybe he and AJS can start a new band. |

Look at the Gallaghers. Great musicians but the abuse they threw at each other is comical. Then again, they don't take themselves as seriously as Jon and Richie and that's reflected in the humour. My hope is that this escalates in the press for several months culminating in a fight to the death. |

If Richie comes back during this tour it will be on Jon's terms. Luckily we know Richie is doing ****ing great! |

If Richie has left because of disagreements on a personal or a musical level, then personally I'm glad. Bon Jovi has been on a slippery slope and has become rather boring and predictable. I hope it shakes things up and a) Bon Jovi return with a new breath of life or b) Sambora goes alone and does solo work, because AOAL is far superior than WAN.
An answer would be nice to put this thread to rest... |
Well it is speculation but it would seem Jon and Richie fell out, I just wish they would sort it out and move forward from here, least Phil X is doing a good job filling in.
|
It's probably not true. I mean, what kind of leg would Richie have to stand on in firing back? He HAS been replaced at a moment's notice TWICE and the tours have gone on successfully without him. It's hard to take anything from an unnamed source as truth.
|
I'm waiting for the autobiographies of Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, then we may know
