Sissy3 06-16-2013 07:38 PM

Maybe we'll eventually see a picture of Richie and Ava carrying RC's and moonpies, with a description of how fashionably dressed he is. :D

She's probably talking about this: https://twitter.com/StyleAva/status/346306277879726080

That's a fake account, though. Ava didn't really post anything.

Ava posted it to her Instagram account, not her twitter. It's real.

Do you think that was a dig at Richie?

It just seems like a genuine nod to Phil for coming in and helping out.

Exactly, he's said similar things before at the end of shows to Phil as well. And it's just a fact, Phil did come and help them out.

Hmmm I'm not sure. Jon said it in that way like you felt he was taking a jab at the elephant in the room. But who knows.

He said something similar last night. Nothing sounded like a dig at Richie, though I imagine they've all become pretty good friends, y'know touring together and stuff.

dcj28 06-17-2013 12:27 AM

Still liking Phil X and he gets a bit of unfair critism on here from some who say hes not as good as the bloke who has 30 years experience with Bon Jovi. Do they know Richie hasnt always sounded like he does now?Said it before id like to see Phil and Richie either side of Jon but thatd be a bit too rock for Bon Jovi nowdays.

ezearis 06-17-2013 01:32 AM

So, guys, have you seen this? Jon says that he's aware of what Richie said about him wanting to see if he can pull stadiums by himself, but that he doesn't want to talk about it, that he isn't mad and that he still wants him back into the band.

If someone could translate it that would help.

Latest tweet. He tweeted it twice, actually.

So why was it necessary for him to tweet/promote what he wrote to Ava? That's already public knowledge. Glad he loves his child but......?

Do you understand how twitter works? It's all about self promotion :-p And it wasn't public knowledge to me until he tweeted it.

Sissy3 06-17-2013 03:58 AM

Yes, I know how Twitter works  and it was already mentioned on this board. Just can't remember exactly where as things tend to bounce from one subject to another in this crazy, informative place.

I see. I never bother reading back b/c there's too much nonsense. You asked why it was necessary for Richie to tweet about it though which has nothing to do with someone else having posted it on this board already.

GabrielC 06-17-2013 04:53 AM

That letter was really touching.

Sissy3 06-17-2013 04:58 AM

I agree, my original post had nothing to do with it already being mentioned on this board. You said you didn't know it until you read his tweet which was probably true for many people. I was only responding to your post. :)

Jon was interviewed by a Portuguese music newspaper.

http://blitz.sapo.pt/bon-jovi-elogia...ortugal=f87841

He basically says he loved the Portuguese crowd, especially in 2011. Perhaps because it was the last gig on the tour. He then says he hopes Richie comes back and stresses again that he was NOT fired from the band nor is he angry at him. In fact, he even says he 'loves him'. The interviewer asks him about the stuff Richie's been saying to the tabloids and Jon says:

"sim, que eu quero os estádios cheios só para mim... Eu não estou zangado. Não quero falar mais sobre isso".

Translation: 'Yeah he says I want to fill stadiums by myself... I'm not angry. I don't want to talk about it anymore'.

So yeah, he's pretty much aware of all the gibberish Richie's been raving about over the past few weeks and YET he insists he's 'not angry'. My theory ? he must have said something really nasty to Richie and he feels he can't be angry about anything Richie says now as a way to redeem himself.

any theory is as good as the next until it can be disproven....there's no need for that. We've come to realise how angry you are, but fact is that none of us knows what has happened or why. Until we do, there's no need to be hostile. I guess you're not 10 years old either, but that reaction from you then was like something that would come from an early teenager. But maybe you are, and all I can say then is that this phase will pass...

And lay off the botox and visits to his plastic surgeon. He is the only member of the band NOT aging gracefully.

In praise of Phil Xenidis

First things first, i am as bummed as everyone by Richie missing such a big chunk of the tour and “my” concert in Milan. Moreover, i fully agree that he has been a quintessential part of BJ. Possibly without him the band wouldn’t have reached such heights. I don’t know that for sure, no one does. What we know is that he has been a pillar of the band and we all love him for that. Enough to forgive him for many ****-ups.

That being said, i have grown to really like the whole “Phil X” persona. He has stepped in very heavy shoes with a lot of humility. Has engaged with fans each time he has had the chance and seemingly, judging by his social media activity, he is having a blast and loving every minute of it.

Technically speaking, he is obviously not phoning it in (a sin Richie has commited more often than not in the last few tours) and even if he is no Sambora he is bringing his own recipe to the table and actually adding something that was maybe missing lately. I like his enthusiasm and the bs free attitude and his guitar playing is good enough to let us enjoy the show anyway.

To add to the above, this is going on while Richie has bailed on the tour to take care of “business” with that Paris Hilton-lite while not saying once he was sorry or whatever and playing the good dad for the press.

I will be sorry to miss him in Milan but i will make sure to support Phil as much as i can. He is going to be there, after all, with the rest of the guys while Sambora lives it large in LA without a care in the world for the people who gave him all that in the first place. Ourselves.

Just to keep the crazy going... if it is true that Richie said Jon wanted to fill stadiums by himself, maybe that's coming from RICHIE's perspective and not Jon's since Richie couldn't fill small theaters by himself. Maybe he's got a mental issue over how poorly his album and tour sold in North America. Maybe it bothers him more than we know that his solo material is so poorly received.

rolo_tomachi 06-17-2013 05:14 PM

If you want to blame someone, blame Jon and his ego

Stranger in this Town & Undiscovered Soul weren´t chart-smashers either. He should get used to it by now...
