Yes because he sounded bad at the tour start in Newark and was again really off in Japan 2008. It wasn't until the US spring tour and I think a performance of Blood Money when realization dawned that his vocals might get back to a higher level.

I think that between 2007-2011 his voice peak in Europe 2008 and during the London residency in 2010. These Days from Frankfurt 2008 and Dry County from the O2 2010 are incredible.

Everyone going on about how it's mad seeing people give criticism about his voice back then etc... For me, it's mad seeing how many people no longer post on here who posted regularly then.

Whether that's because the forum has ads for people still or whatever, I don't know... A lot are no longer here, though.

It's quite sad.

I think that has a lot to do with the band’s current situation. A lot of people no longer have the same interest in Bon Jovi.

I think in this recent leg, there were people posting; even I didn’t reply too much ‘cause I’ve been extra busy with life things and there were a lot of posts; but I noticed the European media reviews were VERY similar to this forum, and I actually thought they copied the posts from here... >_< lol...

Indeed.

The European tour in 2008 was fantastic. Everyone was buzzing about the band.

Exactly, there was a massive decline in and around 2013 here.

In the UK they were on fire in 95/96, Crossroads and These Days were huge, riding on the back of Keep The Faith a few years earlier.

Jump forward to 2000 and they had a second wind off of Its My Life, a new generation of fans. Every album after something dropped away and the quality deminished. Jon sold out around 2007 I think, trying to buy in to that Nashville sound...

It's a shame but instead of being true to their sound and style the constant desire to sound current has lost most of the original fan base. I am genuinely not sure who they are trying to appeal to now. I have enjoyed most of the live shows I have seen, mainly for the time travel experience.. transporting me back to that teenage kid listening to New Jersey and Slippery or that young man trying to make sense of the world and love, listening to Keep the Faith and These Days. Those songs are etched in me as a soundtrack to part of my life, the newer stuff not really but they were my band and always will be to a degree.

If and when they next release an album it needs to be stripped back and not over produced radio friendly fodder. This heart, this soul wants real music.

Amen to that! And, to be fair, I'm not sure they know who they are trying to appeal to now either...

Controversial or not, I disagree. They changed their sound massively in '92 to fit the times. They would have failed otherwise. I don't know why it's okay to sell out and sound more like current bands when it does well but it's a death sentence if it doesn't. I guess the biggest difference is the lyrics and music were still amazing and an upgrade where-as now it's a cliche representation of what's popular?
