Thank you, PatriciaSambora. The timing of Nikki's blog sucks for guys. I'm sorry; but I hope you'll be able to enjoy your show and have a good time anyway.

Richie almost died in a plane accident, the plane lost hidraulic pressure and got to do an emergency landing. Luckily he and everyone's ok.

I'm glad he's fine and nobody was harmed. This certainly puts things into perspective. Life is too short for grudges and pettiness.

RS8MB0R8 06-27-2013 09:32 PM

I was thinking Richie's whole, 'I'm great,' comment was a roundabout way of saying, 'I ain't in rehab again, so don't buy into any media bs reading between the lines of what Jon said about having gone through this before.'

ticos_stick 06-27-2013 09:33 PM

Haha, was this picture took after the incident?

Richie looks like he's having fun. Near death experiences are probably more favourable than working with The CEO.

I wouldn't say he almost died.

MrNickel 06-27-2013 10:00 PM

I bet that pic is Richie's response to every post in this thread.

I think it's before the near death experience but with that hat on his head, I think he didn't need an accident to affect his brain.

JerseyGiant 06-27-2013 10:47 PM

So Richie nearly dies?
Richie organises a fashion party?
I still don't no what I quite make of all this :p

He's a man of leisure. Stupid hats are compulsory.

efiste2 06-27-2013 11:17 PM

Yeah, I wondered about that, too. I remembered he was taking flying lessons so I figured maybe he had a Cessna or something. Guess ya just never know about people, huh.

Hey, Efiste2! Did you ever respond to my question about the JON Haters facebook page? If so, I missed it. There really is one out there called that??

He really does need to find his old stetson. Much cooler...

Sissy3 06-27-2013 11:39 PM

From Ultimate Classic Rock, guess they felt the need to question his knowledge of all things aero:

After the plane — which Sambora owns — was safely on the ground at a Burbank airport, Sambora spoke with the pilots, who filled in the guitar player on the technical details of the malfunction. No word on whether or not he comprehended the complexities of a jet’s intricate working parts.

Seriously?? Not that I think Richie's stupid, by any stretch of the imagination, but my guess would be that the closest he comes to knowing "all things aero" would be Joe Perry... jus' sayin'.

No its just what I call the Richie Sambora facebook fan page, they see Jon as the devil and Richie the angel

rolo_tomachi 06-28-2013 12:24 AM

We all know that Jon sabotaged the plane, but failed, ahahah.

nice try Jon.

Ah... that makes more sense then. Kinda like "if you're not a JBJ lover you must by default be a JBJ hater." Run into that a lot (on both sides). I just don't get it. Richie's my favorite, not gonna lie; but that doesn't mean I don't like Jon, too. (And David. And Tico. Probably Hugh, too, if I knew more about him.) It all kind of reminds me of girls I ran around with in Junior High who could only have one "best" friend.

Thanks for the explanation. I just thought somebody was getting pretty bold if they'd actually started a page for Jon Haters.

It struck me as an odd thing to mention. I own a car but I don't know all the intricacies of it. :D

BJ?YesPlease 06-28-2013 04:10 PM

People still mentioning the "f~*king great!" thing? REALLY?!

Jeez...that was, like, page 300.

jovigirlCT 06-28-2013 04:34 PM

With all the rumors floating around out there and on the hundreds of pages here, I still find it interesting that Richie hasn't done anything with the contest that he was so excited about. No new twitter or facebook post about it since April. Still think there is something more going on than any of our conspiracy theories have come up with.

Actually, I think it was taken after the emergency landing. He talked with the pilots that explained him what happenned, so he was pretty cool about everything.

It was the best quote of this thread, I have a feeling it will be around for awhile.

Sissy3 06-28-2013 06:16 PM

I think someone mentioned putting a moratorium on that expression and one other (which I've forgotten.) They were joking of course.....I think. ;) When/if he returns to the band he needs to wear a tee shirt with that on the front.

And that is a great idea. He had the Blessed t-shirt. He had the Fukcing Sweet t-shirt on the Bounce tour. He could have the I'm Fukcin' Great t-shirt when he returns.:D

It's the go to quote that the anti Richie brigade go to when they've run out of ammo.

I would buy one in a heartbeat. With a shaded pic of him playing the hell out of either his double neck Tele or his Sambora signature :)

So at the Q&A event the Fan Club ran today this was posted (sorry I didn't see this anywhere else)

k, so I wanted to ask about miss 4th July but as I had asked 3 questions already I made sabs do it x anyway long story short, she asked if he would song miss 4th July next week, Jon replied no, not without Richie, you need to tell him to get his ass back to work...
So tell me now that he doesn't miss his brother

I would say that no one here is anti-Richie. Some of us thought the tour should be cancelled and some of us didn't but I don't know anyone anti-Richie.

He engendered a lot of ill will however by doing 2 things.
1 By cancelling shows on his own tour so close to the date that many people were already traveling when they got the news.
2 By starting this tour and then leaving it during the early part of it without any explanation.

Even people who were huge Richie fans got soured by his actions above.

ezearis 06-29-2013 12:51 AM

So... can someone explain this? Those were throwed to the crowd in yesterday's gig.

Oh. Okay, I'm checking out for a while. I really don't need to be involved in discussion about this. Catch up with you guys later.
