Ok guys, I've been taking a closer look at Does Anybody Really, and it's definitely another version. I've taken the demo we already had and corrected pitch and speed to match the "new" version and they just don't line up exactly, so it's got to be a different take. I tried some blending and mixing of old and new version, which works to some extent, but the vocals of the new version just interfere with it too much, so unless someone can tune those down or take em out, I won't pursue that course of action any further...

But, I've taken the best version of the old demo that I could find, cleaned it up, corrected pitch and speed as I said, and uploaded it for you to enjoy:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...49/DARFILA.mp3

Would be happy for some feedback, thx :-)

DryCounty 06-27-2014 04:44 PM

I can't listen to the tracks either. I have ordered the album to my local record store but I just can't wait to listen, so if anybody has the album and can share it with me I'd be very happy!!

PM me! :D

ezearis 06-27-2014 04:49 PM

Just used a german proxy and it's there. The new Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore? doesn't suck but... I'm too used to the other version.

Sounding great!

Bounce7800 06-27-2014 04:58 PM

Only listened to the sample of Does Anybody... and it's definitely a different cut of the song, you can tell instantly.

Nice to have, but really prefer the one we already have cleaned up (or ideally both!)

ezearis 06-27-2014 05:12 PM

Wild Is The Wind seems to have a different vocal track than the leaked demo, plus the keyboard intro, sounds so ****in' good!

ezearis 06-27-2014 05:25 PM

Also, I'm loving House of Fire. Never listened a demo of this one (if there's any) and never listened the Alice Cooper version and I'm loving it. I imagine that for a casual fan, hearing these new songs for the first time has to be an amazing experience! Better than the one we're having doing comparisons or knowing most of the songs, if not all.

steel_horse75 06-27-2014 05:53 PM

Ive ordered mine via Amazon - its out on Monday and its not even been sent out yet!

Rdkopper 06-27-2014 06:24 PM

The more I listen to Does Anybody Fall In Love, the more I'm falling in love with it.

I'm actually glad we got this version. Love when Jon tells them to keep going. Is that live? Or keep going, like keep rolling in a studio?

Good news for those who need it, I could add the I knows and blend in perfectly. I was just messing around a little with it. I need a few days or a rainy one.

Jack27 06-27-2014 06:30 PM

I've ordered on Amazon and it's still not been dispatched either. PM me please if anyone's kind enough?

Sounds better than any version I have of it. Like it!

danfan 06-27-2014 06:33 PM

This is really cool to read. Nice to have someone change their stance on this version. I'm waiting until Tuesday but it's really exciting to read the positivity around here. Wondering about opinions on this version if the've never heard the bootleg first. Anybody out there that can reply on that?

I'd love a copy of that when you're done.

Do you think that Richie will mention this release at all? I mean if you look at the all the crap he is posting on twitter, surely he must have time to promote a release where he plays and has written 99 % of the songs on with a single post. Have a feeling he won't though.

Good question. I wonder how involved he was in this release. I imagine that he would have to at least sign off on stuff he's got writting credits on. And if that's the case and this is being released, then is it a sign that there is amicable communication between his and Jon? Or their people at least?

He's telling the band to keep going, keep playing the outro. Most of these sound like they were recorded live in the studio, like Does Anybody, where Jon stops singing and continues an octave lower. Some are more "complete" with guitar solos and other overdubs, but most are live. Which is why I think Alec is actually playing on these.

I did a quick edit of the I Knows as a test to myself.

Jon sings it twice, at 3:47 and 4:40

I'm going to make two versions and pick which one has the better key. Although what i did isnt perfect and not even close to my final mix, I'm going to wait until i get my cd version next week to complete.

For those who can't, II'll have a fan post it here and here only. Not on YouTube.

Someone who is a regular fan, PM your email, I'll send u the mix and you can post it here for me.

I wouldn't call it falling in love, but I'm starting to like it too!

danfan 06-27-2014 08:49 PM

Someone wanna help a brotha out? I still haven't heard it. :-(

Bounce7800 06-27-2014 09:05 PM

Ordered mine from Amazon today.

Reminder for anyone who has ordered from Amazon (UK at least) that even if it isn't delivered on release day, you will still be able to listen to it via the Amazon cloud player

www.amazon.co.uk/cloud_player‎

I'd recommend setting it up, it'll also have autoripped any CDs you have bought from them previously.

danfan 06-27-2014 09:19 PM

Does Anybody......can't hold a candle to the original.

I'd pay the full price of the CD to hear the original version cleaned up.

Did I hear Love Is War was different from the B-side of Living in Sin?

I've had the Super Deluxe Edition preordered for about a month now and the only songs available on Cloud Player are the 12 original album tracks. Unless autorip is only available to the 'regular' DE?

I'd guess that's because it isn't released yet. I've just bought it and it was a pre-order with release date of 30th June so would expect the rest to appear then- the original album is already released so those songs are already out there.

Yup, it's online on release day. Got a notification mail from amazon today at 0:54 am and listened to it this morning, the CD came 2 two hours later by mail ;-)

This theory seems to crop up for a lot of things, but I'd be surprised if it's ever an issue on a release like this- surely it must only run to pennies, especially given how he has no songwriting credits?

Same with the songs with other writers- even with a writing credit, they can't be giving away much to make it an issue of spite surely?

And you can't deny someone of their credit just by muting a vocal line. You'd have to replace their entire performance and replace it with another to avoid having to pay royalties. Plus, the "I knows" removed are sung by Jon, not Alec.

My guess is that they were removed because they were badly off key, as they were in the demo. Sounded really forced. But then again, might just be that Jon just didn't sing them on the take Obie used, as there are a lot of other vocal bits missing as well.

Just listened to Does Anybody Fall In Love and it sounds not as bad as I expected. I think it'll slowly grow on me. But I'm pretty sure that for me it'll never be on the same level as the version we knew. And I just can repeat what danfan said: "I'd pay the full price of the CD to hear the original version cleaned up."

Seriously, I think if someone can spend the time to do it perfectly, they open up a paypal account and we all give them $5.00.

I was mistaken. It wasn't the "I know"'s I had a problem with. It was the "Does anybody ever give their heart to somebody." That always sounded odd to me.

Why is that? It sounds perfect to me, as well as the "I know"s... Surely forced, maybe, but on key and fitting to the song...

As far as I know, Ozzy Osbourne replaced the bass lines of some albums so he didn't had to pay royalties to a former member of his band. If the re-recorded the bass and removed the chorus, they wouldn't have to pay nothing at all.

Still, I don't think that it's the case of this album. Probably Obie it's too retarded to realize that the other version it's better or Jon didn't liked something on it; or maybe, as it was said, that high quality demo was lost or in poor quality to be released.

Rdkopper 06-28-2014 12:34 AM

After listening closely, I'd bet anything that Lets Make It Baby started out as Lets Make A Baby

rolo_tomachi 06-28-2014 12:48 AM

I'm doing my own mix of Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymoreee ... I know, I Know ....

I still stand by there are a lot of different takes of everything and the one we got wasn't supposed to be ours to begin with. We're just used to it.

Yep. I do not think it be royalties. Why the hell is not the guitar solo?
