Also not sure where to post this, so I'll put it here.
"UMG plans to let artists control and profit from virtual vocals, which could help people like Jon Bon Jovi extend their careers" Yikes, singling Jon like that  "In addition, the voice model can by used like the voices on a synthesizer, offering additional creative opportunities. While its use as an onstage tool remain to be revealed, it could theoretically be used by a singer like Jon Bon Jovi – who fears he may never tour again as a result of health issues – to stay on the road. Of course, would he use some sort of AI toolkit to bolster his voice on an album without admitting it? He’s basically been doing that for 20 years… |

But with live shows it's complicated. I mean, if they can use sophisticated AI so that Jon sings live and just the output is a bit better, then alright. But I can't imagine it still, without miming, or without being embarassed by random moments when it's not gonna work. Perhaps I'm underestimating the level of technology. Basically I personally don't care, he was on top of his game for decades, now I just want to see another decent tour, I'm already alright with the fact that Jon's vocals will be a weak link. But for them to not receive backlash from general audience, it cannot be obvious with miming, etc. |

Personally I'm still trying to figure out why Jon was on the game show Jeopardy!? It was too late to be an album promotion since the album dropped well before he was even on the show. Is it literally anything for money now? |

Jon seriously covered a ton of ground so kudos to him... Since he's not touring, I guess he decided to go all in. But even after all that promo, I bet there are a vast majority of people out there who have no idea that Bon Jovi have a new album out. A lot of people aren't watching network TV anymore. It's too expensive so they are just watching streaming services. There is an entire generation that has given up on paid cable / direct TV services. Even 10 years ago people watched cable TV and listened to the radio... Now it's all streaming on both ends. So covering every notch of your target audience is the key and I truly believe that Jon (and his promo team) did an exceptional job!!! I'm really curious to know if the record company set a specific standard of promo being that he's not touring. |
