IML88 08-13-2013 11:16 AM

How is this still going on. There were only ever two dates that stood a chance of him coming back for. London and Metlife - even those were a slim hope. Why would S.America dates be the ones he comes back for when he didn't even play their home ground?!

He doesn't want to be apart of this album or tour cycle. He's burnt out with Bon Jovi, he'd spent over a decade relentlessly touring and recording with the band. He patiently waited for the time to record his own record and enjoy some time to do what he needed to do creatively and BANG - Jon called him back. I'd be vexed too. Yes he probably could have stuck it out for the good of the fans but frankly I don't blame him all that much. He's given a cracking service to the band since 2000 and put the band before his desire to do his own thing time and again.

This tour has been the worst in their history, the album arguably the weakest. People need to either embrace Phil X on the tour and the poor album they are supporting out of loyalty to the band or chalk this off and wait a few years to see how it pans out.

I'd be willing to bet in 5 years time they'll be back with this swept under the carpet.

Not looking good, I agree. With his message, I suppose he is not referring to the baby due to born this autumn.

Oh--I thought it was a Nikki thing, but apparently it's fan-directed. Still a neat idea.

JoviJovi 08-13-2013 04:00 PM

I think ill honor the 1 year anniversary of Richie's solo album, the same way he has honored the 30 yr anniversary of the band.

If I read correctly, that post requesting pictures states that Nikki requested it. I do think that person communicates with Nikki if only as a way to get at his fans.

Exactly. The message says to send stuff to NikkiRich Clothing, and that would be the official people. Also, this part pretty much makes it clear: "NikkiRich Clothing have started making a video for this! But now Nikki needs our help. To show our support to Richie, she'd like to feature us guys in it."

I'd also like to add Phil's tweet seems to be saying it all. With all this shit going on, I'm honestly done believing he will be back in September, I know he won't. And I'm starting to really doubt about the future as well.
I'm so fed up and tired of this slow agony, I just want them to spill the beans, whatever the hell's going on. But it looks like we'll get a "personal issues" announcement once again (if we're lucky, but I don't think they'll bother, just like they didn't for the latest leg) and never know what's happening till the end of the tour, that is in December, meaning we won't know shit at least till the new year. Yay.

If you expand the tweet somebody asks Richie if the dream is over with the band. This reply almost makes me think he's saying his dream isn't over, it just won't necessarily be with the band!

No, that's not the tweet he was answering. He answered a tweet from someone who said he seems lost. He almost never tweets about the band.

I don't know if this will help or not but this is the actual conversation.

Soooo... Nothing new, I guess at the start of this **** up I was particularly understanding sympathetic if you will.

which to a certain extend I guess I still am, can't help but get a bit angry tho what a way to put two fingers up to a 30 year career! So go ahead Richie shove ya knickers up your arse and take them ****ing PR muppets with you!

Can't believe how much this guy used to be my hero! and before anyone jumps down my throat I saw the boys twice this tour simply for the fact that these songs still mean so much to me and properly always will I had a blast in Lisbon and London and wanted to show my support for the guys that actually where on stage! If this all is down to personal reasons and Richie comes back then I will hold my hands up for bashing the guy! At the end of the day if he ever returns it will most likely be awkward! But for me the bottom line is this whole situation has been handled badly and is disrespectful to me the fan that buys the records and supports this band!

Rant over :)

She is such a possessive, controlling little B. Threatened a fan may get more attention than her. Just like my post a few pages back with her brother on you tube telling anyone else who uses the music for come back as me has no authorization to. They are taking over everything Richie does.

Zeppo Jovi 08-13-2013 10:12 PM

"I guess this time you're really leaving..."
It's even in my eyes starting to look like RS-comeback won't happen during this tour. Hopefully it does happen before the beginning of next tour, or I feel the next album (if there´s something yet to come) has to be pretty damn good to get me to the audience. Wouldn't mind a comeback AND a great album.

First thought Richie had some kind of problems with his health or trouble with the police so he couldn´t travel, but had to give up those theories when he was able to fly to Europe after all...

I had such high expectations for the album and for the tour, 30 years and all. What went wrong? Damned.

And as I just registered, as a part of it there was a question "What's the first name of the guitarist of Bon Jovi?". Had to think, but chose Richie.

Sissy3 08-13-2013 10:50 PM

May have to change it to "what is the first name of the current guitarist for Bon Jovi." :D

FFS, Richie is begging for attention now.

Thinking twice, maybe he needs professional help. Some therapist or psychologist.

Cry him a river. He's either a whiny baby or he's got a mental problem (which I suspected about 400 pages ago).

To me, that is someone who is going through a midlife crisis. When you are looking for validation from twitter, you know you have problems. His 54, not in a relationship and his career in limbo and now he seems like a lonely man, wanting and needing fans to tweet him his life long work.

Last time I looked, he wasn't a lead singer, he was the lead guitarist and co-singer of a rock band. If he wanted to be lead singer, he starts his own band and evidently, it looks like that is what he wants. I think its a case of his last solo tour left him with a big ego.

His tour was a failure in the US so it could be deflated ego as easily as inflated.

For those of you with a problem with non band information as to what Richie is or is not doing - just skip over this. I found it interesting, a conversation on twitt about the fashion Japan stuff going on this month. If anyone has read any of my posts, I am NOT a Lund/Borg fan and think they have done nothing but hurt RS image. Don't think they care either. Never minded his fashion business until his "partners" and new PR seem to be taking over everything, including the music. Also interesting is this conversation was with same person they accused of taking their video project and making a copy, blah blah blah. But sounds like Japan is on hold?

You're not reading Twitter right. It's the other way around. NikkiRich said the project is on hold (the one they were accused of ripping off) and someone responded to that asking about Japan.

CKatz 08-14-2013 05:54 AM

A lot of people here have no clue what twitter is there for or how to use it...
And if one guy's tweets piss you off so much, then it's time to unfollow.
You accuse Richie of bitching and whining (even though he's not even talking about the band, just making polite conversation), but maybe you should take a look at yourselves. This whole thread is nothing but bitching, complaining and whining. So if you want to see the crybaby, look in the mirror.

The @NikkiRichWTB account is not run by Nikki, but someone named Janine (a fan who was made an intern)...which is why she signs off each of those tweets with "~J". The video was Janine's idea, not Nikki's.
Please get your facts straight before rushing to judgment.

Actually, "that post" JoviJovi referenced is incorrect. Nikki Lund did NOT request it. Neither Nikki nor Richie had anything to do with starting this. A good friend of mine is the administrator of the original FB page that is referenced in the tweets between @cathypens and @NikkiRichWTB below and she (my friend) is actually the one who came up with the whole idea.

After it was posted in her FB group one of the members (@NikkiRichWTB) - and yes, Stiggy, that would be Janine - posted a very similar message on her own NikkiRich street team page, which is, in fact, “NikkiRich Clothing” (not to be confused with the official NikkiRich page, which is simply “NikkiRich”). One of the mods on my friend’s site (@cathypens) saw the posting and called Janine out on it on twitter:

According to my friend, the message has now been deleted from Janine’s street team site. Before it was deleted, however, it was apparently picked up by the WTB Belgian Street Team and posted on their site, too.
White Trash Beautiful Belgian Street Team
As you all know, next month is the anniversary of Aftermath of the Lowdown.
NikkiRich Clothing have started making a video for this! But now Nikki needs our help. To show our support to Richie, she'd like to feature us guys in it.

All we have to do, is send NikkiRich Clothing a picture holding up our copy of Aftermath of the Lowdown, and his other solo CDs.

All photos will be used in the video, and a small message can also be included, send this along with the photo, not on the photo. Limited to 140 characters otherwise the video could end up a 3hr movie! So use NikkiRich Clothing twitter to count your message or a word count tool!

Deadline for photos will be this SUNDAY, you can also send your photos to NikkiRich Clothing on the Facebook page through a direct message.

Thanks for your help!
Since their posting was a direct copy of Janine’s posting, it re-states the same incorrect information about it being a request from Nikki [Lund].

It’s clear, yes; but it’s also wrong. Perhaps someone saw the NikkiRich Clothing and assumed the same thing – that “NikkiRich Clothing” is the official site – and thought (from that) that Nikki Lund was the one who originated it. Or maybe Janine phrased it that way deliberately, to get more people involved. I don't know about that. But at any rate, it's not true.

To reiterate: Neither Nikki Lund nor Richie Sambora is involved in this project in any way. They haven’t even been made aware of it unless they monitor the street team pages and discovered it on their own.

The video is still happening. Just not on Janine’s site. She’s put HER video project on hold, but the original Anniversary Video is not affected by any of this. Here’s the link to the original announcement: https://www.facebook.com/groups/608188729201768/

I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

Not sure why anyone would want to claim ownership of it tbh. It's not normal to celebrate a 1 year anniversary of an album to begin with, but this was a mediocre album that sold poorly.

It might arguably be the weakest solo album of the three, but it got great reviews, better than any Bon Jovi album ever has. It was also never expected to become a mega-seller.
Clearly the album struck a nerve or these fans wouldn't bother to spend their time and effort to do this. Nobody is doing this for WAN...

Reviewed better than any of the BJ albums? That can't be right. It's my favorite album of the year and miles better than What About Now, I just don't think it reviewed better than the band's top sellers.

WAN isn't a year old so how could anyone be doing this for it?

The band's topsellers got more attention by far (of course), but not all of it was good.

WAN isn't a year old yet, but nobody is planning anything for the upcoming "anniversary". Nobody even suggested it.
