Same thing here. It's different technology. Everette didn't say they were totally lost and it will never happen... He just said (paraphrase) that they need to adapt.

You're used to doing the same thing for 35 years and then they throw something different at you, it's an adjustment. Not just with the technology but also 7 guys recording live from their homes.

He made it sound like they experimented with Its My Life. Dave kicked it off blah blah blah. Sure a piano, acoustic guitar, drums, and vocal seem pretty basic...

In all fairness, they are a little behind because two members of the band had to recover from the Corona Virus.. While Jon was waiting, he was off doing his thing with the Do What You Can project, interviews, other solo charity gig's and volunteering his time at the Soul Kitchen.

The band probably regrouped a couple weeks ago and are now playing catch-up.

I'm not sure why this is so hard for you or anyone to understand.

I've gotten it, I've understood it. I'm done.

If the band had done a live playback in person, then that should spark a discussion.

But a during a quarantine, it's just the same people bitching just to bitch.

- Metallica and Powerfinger probably started recording back in March or April. Bon Jovi had two members recovering from the pandemic during that duration and were behind the 8 ball.

- Jon occupied his time with other projects with both new music and volunteer activities at the Soul Kitchen during that duration.

- When the band regrouped to record for The Voice, they ran into a curve ball. I'm sure The Voice needed the final cut way in advance and the band just didn't have the time to figure it out how to incorporate all the different productions so they used a playback track and Jon sang live.

- Jon's a perfectionist. He's not going to half ass something just for the sake of doing it and misrepresent the song on national TV.

- Everett said "its a challenge to make sound and I'm sure we'll get there". As he's talking about Its My Life which actually did come out amazing... It's obvious that he's referring to songs that require larger productions outside the acoustic setting. Aka. Limitless... My impression is that wanted to but just fell short and needed more time which they didn't have.

- Now if you think Jon doesn't care about the new single, that's a totally different discussion outside of this and definitely not the reason why they went with a playback.

It all adds up. A plus B equally C.

Here is the interview. Watch it yourself. It's around the 30 minute mark.

You can post whatever you want. But the point you're trying to make is useless as it's been explained several times before that you're comparing apples to oranges.

I've driven on loads of highways before going straight. I then wind up on a curvy road through the Italian alps. I don't insist on driving straight there as well "because I've done it before". The circumstances are different, so you adjust your driving.

An artist does a playback performance for a TV show because the circumstances don't allow a live performance. But the circumstances are completely different, so suddenly there is room for a live performance. And you then jump in saying "They've done playback before". Yes. We know. But that's not the point.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I know that ones and others explained their points of view, but you dont have the universal thruth, your opinion has the same value as others.
My opinion is that,if you had ever been on a band, you must know that before playing live, there has to be a rehearsal time, even more with a new song.
I cant see them rehearsing together since,at least January.
It is also impossible, that they play live together from their houses because of the delay of the streamings.

David about the tour: "You know it's really postponing, but you have to say the word canceled to give the money back... We're gonna come out the second we're allowed to and it's safe you know and the world is back off the pandemic pause. We go to pandemic play, and then we can all get out there and rock and roll again, I can't wait."
