Aplogies if this has come up before, but I just came across this release which I've never seen before. Claims to be an official promo sent out by the publishers. I have seen these kind of promos before, but never this one. Interestingly there are 3 tracks that I don't recognise:

Trying Not To Get Over You
Best Day Of My Life
Only Love Can Do

Interesting that If I Can't Have Your Love is included. No idea on what year this was released, but it looks as thought it's from before the Box Set came out, so could this be a different version? Polished full band version?

https://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=462014

Anyone have any more info on this or the tracks?

Interesting. Nice find, thanks! I guess these are some tracks that will probably never surface. I'm guessing that they would have been from the Aftermath era then, but who knows...

I'm not so sure, if they were registered 2004 you were bang on with your box set timeline.

Mark Hudson, Desmond and Gary Burr composed Take Me On too. Must be from that era

I would love to have the demo or a studio recording of this song.

Richie Sambora I Need Your Love (New Jersey 1982) - YouTube

I've got one! It's from CD2 of the Shark Frenzy collection released in 2010. It's a good quality recording, and Richie also sings lead in a few other songs. I also like the Bruce Foster songs in the album, so this is highly recommended!

Southern Belle and A Good Life have Richie as a lead singer. He plays lead guitar in the whole album and sings in the background. A Good Life and I Need Your Love have Sambora as a songwriter in the credits.

What year were these songs recorded?

I'm not sure. I found this page: http://bonjovialbums.com/discinfo.php?vrednost=283, where it says that CD1 is 1978-1980 and CD2 1980-81. Looks like there have been multiple releases of these songs, and one also includes a song called "Goodbye To Me" that is unfortunately missing from my Shark Frenzy collection.

This article https://celebrityinsider.org/heather...eisser-472389/ says: Richie stepped in and took custody of Ava when Heather was battling addiction and he even left his band Bon Jovi to put fatherhood first.
The recent article with Jon: "He chose to do what he did, but my heartbreak is I personally loved having him in the band – I loved my band. But there was not a chance in the world that we would discontinue because of his inability to go on"

Poking around ASCAP and didn't realize Come Back As Me was on there.

Writers:

Nikki Lund co-wrote it! Had no idea.

We're getting posts like this for - what is it - 2 years now?
Bob Rock, Little Steven, Orianthi...
I don't know how often that album was finished the last couple of years...

Little Steven said he's heard it, but didn't say it was done did he? Ori only said a couple of months ago this his new album is great. First thing I remember was I think around the beginning of the pandemic when Bob Rock said that it was pretty much done, but with Richie having some time now they will probably be tweaking some things. That's how I remember it anyways, please correct me if I'm wrong. The majority of new albums have been delayed in the past 12 months is some form or another.

rolo_tomachi 02-08-2021 05:51 PM

I need to hear that new album, I can't wait! :D

So many people co-wrote that song?

Captain_jovi 02-08-2021 08:36 PM

Basically three of the co-writers are from The Matrix who have been responsible for a bucket ton of the pop hits from the early 2000s

This - Only I'm not sure I'm afraid of but afraid for - Maybe he's just trying too hard, but something doesn't feel the same - not just age.

Been away awhile, anyone read the lyrics to Orianthi's "get over the break up Lyrics"??
Read what she wrote on her therapy painting she posted??
Maybe I missed that conversation.

I know she's back, never was a fan - Sue left in July and she was back - well really quick.

Oh man, that Richie interview is cringeworthy from start to finish...

First, he needs to understand that it's not the 80s anymore and he's not 20... I don't know what look he's going for but its just not working for him.

Second, his personality is just so not the Richie from Aftermath to the beginning. He was such a calm cool happy chill nice guy. He always had a permanent smile and a warm personality... I'm almost afraid of this Richie. Now he's just constantly on the defense and the words take a while to come out. The is a stumble, mumble, or hesitation before each sentence. There are times where he drifts off or takes the conversations a step too far.

I was watching his Craig Ferguson guest appearance the other day and what a different guy.

Its just all so wrong now and age is not the excuse... Nikki Sixx is the same guy he has always been and he's even older.

Having heard these I can see why they are unreleased - nice songs but nothing to get too expected about.

How very odd. Richie wasn't even tagged in this, so why choose to respond?

I don't recall Richie really saying anything positive about 7800 previously. He always said that he felt like he and Jon had not yet found their groove writing songs together....

Jerry: In a serious 7800 mood today, such a great and underrated album! I truly feel this was the album where @BonJovi was almost finding their definitive sound before Slippery. Such amazing songs on this album.

There's a Jon's old quote (1986) where he talks about Richie being more involved.
"Richie Sambora and I wrote this whole album together with the exception of one tune called Wild In The Streets that I penned by myself, otherwise he and I co-wrote the rest of the album and it was important to bring him into a spotlight this year, because he really is a great guitar player and has been a little overshadowed by the media because he's not one of those guitar players that goes out to play 16 notes in one measure, you know; he'd rather play one and gets a melody across so he doesn't have to be one of the speed kings and it's more important melody wise to us."

I'm laughing at how sarcastic that response is. Like "no shit we were finding our groove before Slippery, it's the album that came BEFORE!!!" But maybe that's my passive-aggressive self seeing that XD....

Wonder if there’s a day where Jerry doesn’t think about Bon Jovi?
It’s the BSB all over again.

That's what I kind of thought too but responding like that goes so far beyond the stuff Richie usually responds with, ya know? Real interesting to see either way.

I know you're making a joke but dude doesn't seem like the most tech-savvy person especially when it comes to social media. It'a always been very clear when the tweets came from him or his team.

He's a guy who really needs a strong support team behind him.
