He’s says that but I doubt it. If he wrote 25 then I’d expect at least 12-14 on standard release. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

This cover made me laugh out loud. It looks like something out of a political campaign (which is probably the idea anyways). So lame, so disastrous, yet so perfect for what BJ is nowadays - a worn out solo act backed by hired guns. This makes 7800°’s cover look like a piece of art. Rip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
If someone was just tuning in, they would actually think Jon is running for something.
Not only just the album cover but he also has important statements to make about this oppressed Trump filled world we're all battling through... Reality Check Jon: These are the best times this country has ever seen. All time economic records are being broken thanks to the most accomplished president in US History!!! So I was taking a shower... and 'Limitless' made its aparition in my Bon Jovi playlist. Blablabla it was sooo good...

Wow. He really is pushing the view that he is the band, huh? |
Just heard Limitless. Well I heard 75% of it before my phone cut it off. Absolute drivel. ****ing he'll, it's like a parody song. Utter garbage. I've got The Circle on now which sounds like masterpiece compared to Limitless and The Circle is mediocre.
Jon needs to pack it in if this is the shite he's producing. And I actually quite liked Unbroken. |

I'm getting a bit pissed off of hearing about Jon's vision for the band. That's CEO talk for Christ sake.
Jon also has to lose the notion that he's some sort of social commentator. He's not and he doesn't have the lyrical brilliance to pull it off or add anything to the discussion. Jon built his career, and rebuilt it, more than once by writing about emotions people could relate to and putting kick ass tunes behind that. He may point to LOAP. Did anyone fall in love with that song because of what it said about Regan's America or did you fall in love with it because we all know what it's like to struggle in life and the chorus was insanely brilliant. I'll give him a few songs in the 90s like KTF, DC and Hey God but even then Always, Bed of Roses and TAALS were bigger hits. It's my Life was another song people could relate to without tying it to politics. Their best work post 2000 were songs in the vein that made them successful (MAM, WLOL, LWTG). Nobody gives two shits what Bon Jovi thinks about Trump, America or politics. We care about songs that touch our lives and that we can relate to emotionally. What he's producing now is pure shite. |

Jon isn't a political song writer. Leave that to Springsteen or Dylan.
He may think he is but he isn't and I dont want him to be. Just stick to making stadium anthems. What even is the message of limitless? Cleaning your teeth and grabbing your shoes means life is limitless? Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |
Bon Jovi saying no to politics? Then wondering why the comment section is turned off lol |

I also want to add that it also comes down to Jon's voice. He knows he can't deliver anything of passion that requires a strong vocal so he purposely continues with these big anthem type pop songs (if that's what you even call them). I think he's scared of his classic hits during live performances and doesn't want to even try to create another one in a studio. I would love nothing more than for Jon to take his time on one last masterpiece. Even if it took him months to record it. I really do believe that most songs are handed to him 90% complete and he just adds/changes lyrics... There might be a couple he writes himself, but the remaining bulk are just handed over by Shanks or Falcon. Teardrop To The Sea is a great example of that. That was Billy Falcon song and Jon sang it as is to fulfil Burning Bridges requirements. And probably the reason why he has avoided it ever since. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk |
I think the message is to do whatever you want, go off the routine, blablabla.
P.S. Don't mess with my boy Rdkopper, just saying... (I also like Donald Trump) |

Also the economy may be flourishing (though I have no idea about that and too little time to read up on it), but maybe that's inspite of Trump and not because of him, ever thought about that? |

Trump is to credit for the economy. 4 Million Jobs Created of which 400,000 are manufacturing job - growing at a faster rate than in 3 Decades. I can tell you one thing he didn't do. He didn't give 150 Billion to Iran while they chanted death to Americans!!! Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk |
20/20: The New Album
Quote:
And blowing a gigantic hole in the deficit is because of what? So much for the Republican Party and fiscal responsibility. And you need to check your job creation stats with a credible government website and you will see that President Obama had more job creation and that was starting off with an economy in the shitter. Trump inherited a good economy. And don’t tout 401ks/stock market as making everyone’s day to day life better as most working class don’t even have a 401k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
If we could not have political discussions that would be lovely
|
Seconded, there are other parts of the board to talk abut that stuff. Let's keep it off the new album thread.

Oh and you're also upset why? because not everyone has a retirement plan or some type investment plan? Minimum wages are being spiked across the entire country. Anyone can open an IRA or mutual fund. You dems are unbelievable. Just a small population making a lot of noise. Go back to being brainwashed by CNN... It looks like Bernie, who is a socialist, is you're only hope. Talk about a messed up party. And thanks to that impeachment stunt, we'll probably end up getting the House back too... Great job wasting tax payer dollars... I can't wait till the debates just so I can watch Trump mop the floor with that crazy bastard. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk |

Can we talk about the cover art for a second? For a band that put so much thought and effort in the WAN cover art just a few short years ago, I can't imagine how they wouldn't put in a little more effort? It's hard to imagine anyone thinking that this was a good idea. It's cringe worthy.
They used to value photo art for the albums. Keep the Faith, Crossroads, These Days, Crush, hell even Destination Anywhere had cool, themed photography. Bounce had some nice shots. But with every album since Bounce, their photography has gone downhill. Does anyone have info about 2020s photography? This is garbage. Is this really JBJ seeing a pic of JFK, taking a quick and ridiculous picture and telling his record label creatives to make it happen? "Let's make it black and white so people know I am serious". Who else is surprised they didn't color spot the flag in his glasses? For a second I thought Limitless just might be the best they are capable of at this point, but after thinking about this cover, like the cover, I think it's just as much effort as they are willing give. |

I mean with the idea of naming the album 2020, the cover is appropriate. To me it shows a bit of attitude, which I also see in the released songs, and I consider this a plus.
Also, I like the production used for the songs. It's compact and if the whole album will sound like that, I'll prefer it over THINFS (too poppy guitars, e.g. DITT) and WAN album. |
Quote:
Theres a word JBJ says in this song "choking" and it sounds like classic JBJ. |
Quote:
And I'd really like to know where Limitless sounds less poppy than anything on THINFS or WAN. With Unbroken, yeah I get that a bit. But Limitless is as artifical and bubble-gum pop as BJ can get these days. |

Nice job editing this one! I think it says a lot when the original video is outdone that fast by a fan edit (just like it happened with WWWU). |
