Man, I love the first 4 tracks. The rest of it hasn't washed over me yet, I should give it a proper listen soon.

Well, on first listen it seems like it might be a little better than Room Service. But damn, the stand out songs are few and far between. Tonight We Have The Stars was probably the one that stood out most. By about track 6 or 7 I really was wondering if it was going to end anytime soon

It is pretty beige, but it's good listening. Background music. Radio 2 fodder.

These last last few weeks I was having trouble sleeping, ten mins of that and I was asleep in no time :D

To be honest, I'm all for older bands/artists producting new material, even if it will never live upto the standard of their glory years (Bon Jovi for example), but in Bryan Adams' case, if all he's gona be doing is making bland, middle-of-the-road pop-rock albums that are 99% pop, I don't know why he should even bother anymore. I don't dislike 11 and it's certainly an improvement on Room Service, but it's WAY to vanilla for me.
I know i was the one who started this thread, but I don't think I've been so underwelmed or unexcited about an album in my life to be honest. Maybe just blind faith or something. |
I'll tell you exactly what it's like, these vanilla albums after the full Raspberry Ripple (LH, 11 et al): bear with me.
It's like spending a few months watching really hardcore, niche porn: you know the stuff, then reverting to a cheeky nipple here and there. |
Now there's a man that speaks my language.

I actually quite like it. Might be because i've been drinkin some whiskey, and maybe because i sang 'stright from the heart' few months ago at a BA concert and these songs are something like that.... i like it because...he's taking the 'safe road'...it's not bad, it's not brilliant...it's good...aaah, i'd say it's bryan adams these days, that's what he does, he won't do what he did in the 80s, just like bon jovi wont do like in the 80s...but they're there and that's just fine with me...i'm happy they still tour etc :) ..*me shuts up now* :)

I'm still greatful that Bryan and Bon Jovi, along with many others, are still here, but this new Bryan album simply just does no justice for him whatsoever. It seems like he's just relying on his voice to carry an album. His voice is one of the greatest in rock, but I wanna hear guitars and big choruses aswell.
