Aaaaaaaand I hate to be the partypooper, especially of the party I started myself, but here's an exclusive interview with Richie about parenthood. It's been just posted, but they don't really say if it's new or they're just riding the drama horse for some more clicks.

Whoever is doing this really wants to shove the father of year down our throats. The pics with Ava, driving the car, having the dinner, going for coffee. It's either a dig at Heather or Jon.

Almost as boring as Richie's motionless, uninspired figure on stage.

This push of 'Father of the Year' stuff almost makes me think there might be some merit to the article that said Jon made a comment about Ava that upset Richie.

Yeah maybe - like Richie's in full PR mode to prove Jon wrong and make a point.

Or its being made to look that way (cue the extra dramatic soap opera music)

It is interesting to me that all of their 'communication' seems passive-aggressive. If it's true Jon hasn't talked to Richie by phone --(or if what Jon has said is true and he just talked to Richie 'once' since this all started) -- either way, it's clear to me we have a stand-off of some kind going on.

Speaking of image: On Jon's end of things, you may recall the article published recently that showed him with Stephanie, walking down a street in New York. Stephanie had on a sundress, was wearing glasses and had her hair in a bun. She looked much older than her age (but in a modest sort of way). Basically, she looked like me when I go to work at the library LOL. One person's comment to the article was essentially, 'Wow! She doesn't /look/ like she is the type to have drug problems! Shows what little I know!'

If there is any merit at all to the article re: Jon getting upset and lashing out at Richie re: his daughter versus Ava and Ava's more "Hollywood" lifestyle (the sort of lifestyle Jon has shunned openly to the press over the years) then it's interesting to me how commenters to the article also thought she (Stephanie) didn't "look" like someone who had these sorts of issues. Perception can be very convincing, and reality can be altogether different. But celebrities know how to use perception to their advantage.

I just hope the kids don't end up being used as pawns in this ongoing feud, but the press sure makes it seem that way.

You're trying too hard, Panda. You should be a little more subtle, so that people could actually have the reaction you're after and not just laugh it off.
