Valid point, but then again, one has to wonder why he chooses the shows he couldn't record properly. I'm sure they have more than Paris from Jon's solo tour in the vaults. Same with Wembley where they had recorded all four nights plus a huge amount of other shows from the first leg in 1988.
But Obie seems to love to brag about the "difficult ones". I remember that he was at a radio station in 2010, talking about the bonus editions of the albums that year. He went a long way of describing how he could rescue some damaged recordings with a new technique and then played a song of this where one thought "you could've just used any other recording as well".
I'd get that when they want to save something like Brussels 1988 and the one performance of Stick To Your Guns. But rescuing something like a standard edition of Wanted when you could've just picked one of the other 100+ renditions in the vault seemed a little odd at the time :D

A good technician would ensure that the mix of the programs arrived in stereo for retransmission. I still don't understand why they are broadcast in mono. Pearl Jam shows are broadcast on Sirius very frequently, all in stereo.

for me the reason is simple. Pear Jam officially releases its lives and Bon Jovi does not. In mono it is less likely to be pirated and to be released on CD silver on Japanese labels.

The "how come Pearl Jam does it and Bon Jovi doesn't" argument comes up so much here as if they are in any way similar in band organization and care for fanbase.

Metallica and Pearl Jam aren't similar either yet both offer plenty of recording of their shows. As of right now I can buy concert recordings of Pearl Jam from 2008. Metallica even goes back further and has shows available from 2004. Springsteen meanwhile has shows available from 1975.

Meanwhile, Bon Jovi can't get a pre-recorded, pre-mixed show broadcast in stereo because "the hardware was faulty". What will it be next time? His cracked version of Adobe Audition stopped working and no working crack was available?

My point was more Pearl Jam has always been a completely different type of band. I ain't making excuses for BJ but we're comparing fan service to the band that sued Ticketmaster and is constantly in the fan's circle. BJ made the choice to be a nostalgia based touring act and it took them out of the running to be in the same league as those other 3.

I just don't understand the "well why can band X do it and not them?" they absolutely can do it and should do it but their cheapness prevails them.

Do we know what will be aired next friday ?

No new ad for now, jingle Paris 97 keeping. So we still don't know which show will be next Friday.

mmm, it seems they keep offering the same old thing. Damn you Obie, you've got all the shows recorded from 2013, could you launch something never heard of, and before Jon's voice took a permanent vacation?.

A show prior to the 2013 European tour would be nice, for example. The Canadian shows at the beginning of the tour, these were fantastic.

There are certain things in life you'd like to know the answers to... Like how the pyramids were constructed or if there are any other life forms out there [emoji848]... And I actually lump Bon Jovi management decisions into that.

I always try to look at the business aspects behind it all but every time I do, those theories gets debunked...So I think it's all just lazy, money saving motives.

You have to spend money to make money. If Jon didn't buy It's My Life, his entire legendary career path would have changed. They would have probably followd more of a Motley Crue type of ongoing success...

Curious to know if they'll broadcast it unedited (like Wembley). Simply because the webstream back then was the first time one noticed that Jon's voice had been heavily doctored (especially on Always and These Days if I remember correctly).

The 2 sets for Metlife seem to be pretty interchangeable.

Night 1 had These Days

Night 2 had Pretty Woman in Bad Medicine, Dry County and I Love This Town and no These Days.

Was really hoping the first show we got from WAN tour was going to be one of the better European shows or Sydney Night 2.

Hoping next week we get a full show from 1989 - 1996 or one of the best shows from 2010/2011.

Well, it would be great to fill in some missing boxes.

As Lolo says, a 1985 show would be interesting, especially one that is not Tokyo, and that is not very cut. An ideal list for me:


1985 Anyone other than Tokyo
1986-87 (Detroit - Nassau Full show?)
1989 Giant Stadium (or Hammersmith 1990)
1992 Bethlehem (If i Was Your Mother Debut) and 1993 (one of those energetic shows from April leg of 93 )
1995 (Camden - Tampa )
1996 (One show that add a good live version of My Guitar Bleeding in My Arms and All I Want Is Everything as Dublin, Enschede, Osaka ..)
2001 Cologne
2003 Washington 2003 or Anaheim 2003 (Both greats versions of KTF and Undivided)
2006 Milwaukee (great energy, my fav Bells of Freedom and Welcome To Werever You Are live performance - Atlantic City it's nice too.
2010 London Nights, Australian nights .. there were really a lot of great shows that year.
2011 Hyde Park and Munich full show (Maybe it's not the best, but it would be easy for them to launch it)
2013 Canadians shows with Richie Sambora or Little Rock (Great live version of Only Make Believe)

No THINFS show, in any case one of BB mini Tour 2015, with Matt O'Ree on guitar.

I feel like I left a lot of my favorites behind, Christmas concerts, and all that, but to receive at least something like this, I would be very happy.

Nice list. But most of them are very well covered through fan recordings.
So I'd rather take a show that's not around in trading circles yet.

But by saying that: Since they obviously prefer taking shows that are already mixed, I'm curious if they go for Stockholm 1993 sometime as well. The 7 songs that are available (I think it was a radio broadcast) are very well mixed and since April 1993 was their prime month on that tour, this show would be a great one to get.

I agree with quite a few of your list. As you say the Christmas concerts would be a must.
Of course number 1 would be the Hammersmith and number 2, for me, the Giants 1989.
We can't forget the two nights of the Moscow Peace Festival, the late 89 early 90's and the Slippery tour, one from the first part (31-12-1986) and the other from the later tour (Madison Square Garden).

I take for granted any of the first 2 tours other than the Tokyo Classic and Cleveland 1984.

Of the more modern the 2010 tour I think was very good and the O2 Arena nights would be a good choice.

We'll see what Obie surprises us with... lol... lol

Gosh... You know it's bad when 2013 sound refreshing... compared to today, Jon sounds like he's 25. Even that These Days sounded 100% better than I remembered it.

I didn't listen to the whole thing, but the bits I did hear I was pleasantly surprised by. I think the thing that turned my off this show and generally the tour was that the main set had nothing overly interesting to offer. There were exceptions throughout the tour of course, but generally it was by numbers Bon Jovi main set.

Apart from Jon's voice getting worse as the tour went on, I remember the shows actually being very good. From memory I said in my post show review that Sydney Night 2 was up there with the 3 nights in Sydney in 2010.

Are we sure it was the "raw one" or the doctored version that got used for the webstream later on? Cause there was quite some difference in These Days between those two :D

It is a bit altered, but not as much as the webstream one. It feels much more natural, there are parts in These Days and Always that are noticeable, but much less than before. It's quite audible, I can enjoy it. The band is sound also better, although it is still in mono.

No, just an artwork to host in the album folder. I like to have a representative image of the albums when I listen to music on my phone for example.

If you are going to add the image in the mp3, then I recommend you first convert the artwork into jpg in a medium range quality so that it takes up less space, since my artworks are in uncompressed png, and each picture occupies from 4 to 7 megabytes.

If you convert it to jpg to add it to mp3, the image will occupy between 300 to 500 kb, and it will save space. I usually use PNG artwork to include it inside the album folder.

Why such a high resolution to later see it on a phone or similar? Well, technology advances faster than we think, 8-9 years ago, I did a project, my own artworks of all the bootlegs that I had, I used to do medium quality covers, and with the passage of time almost all of them stayed obsolete. It will probably also happen with these too, but at least they will hold out a little longer, or so I hope.

I don't usually do back covers, because I no longer listen to music on CD, everything is through my computer, phone or hi-res player. Also to save space at home. I have a lot of burned CDs & DVDs - half are no longer playable, so on my shelf in physical format I only have official material and some pressed bootleg CDs (not burned CDs).

At the end of the day, it's just one thing for fun.
