Pantera

Any chance of them reuniting? What are some good songs from them except ****ing Hostile and Cowboys From Hell?

Between Dimebag's death and the fact that Vinnie Paul and the lead singer hate each other, I think you can fully rule out them getting back together in any capacity.

Yeah, can't see any reunion happening anytime soon, wouldn't be the same without Dime anyway.

Other good tracks? This Love, Mouth For War, I'm Broken, Strength Beyond Strength, Primal Concrete Sledge...the list is endless...

WALK

One of those bands I never had the chance to experience live and never will, unfortunately.
Dime was a monster of a guitarist!

Rumour has it, Never Say Goodbye was written for them. Not sure where that rumour comes from. But Cowboys from Hell and a Vulgar Display of Power are two of the greatest albums ever recorded.

I am pretty sure it was "Without Love" that was originally intended for Pantera. I remember seeing an interview with Sambora some years back mentioning it. There is another Jovi link to Pantera, David Bryan played on their "Projects In The Jungle" album.

Are you sure about that? Wasn't that recorded in 1983- 1984? How would they have got David Bryan so early on? And more importantly - why? It's not like he was Jon Lord.

was Pantera around that early?

I love Pantera. Saw them live twice but Brixton 94 was the best time. Dimebag was awesome guiarist.
Far Beyond Driven a fantastic album.

I also like Down - Phils side project which has become his full time project now.

Yep, and they were a glam rock band back then. You can't get any of their 80's album on CD though, just vinyl and cassette.

I remember first reading it in Kerrang or Metal Hammer around the time "Vulgar" came out and it was in an interview with either Dimebag or Vinne Paul. Can't say 100% sure if it was either of them that mentioned it in the interview or if the journalist just chucked it in as part of the article. Apparently the track he is on is "In Over My Head". It came out in 1984. I also remember reading a few reviews of the album over the years saying David Bryan was on it...tried to google it just then and couldn't see anything other than him being rumoured to have appeared.

I do have the CD, but it was a re-release that doubled up their "Metal Magic" release with "Projects", and the only album credits on the CD is for the Metal Magic album.

So...I am pretty sure but don't have the definitive proof for ya, Mr Son
