Rock in Rio 2019

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DyQltbzX4AEMUhY.jpg

Rock in Rio just teased this in their social media.

jon-flp 01-31-2019 09:51 PM

It's confirmed by a journalist who is a reference in the area here in Brazil.

It matches with the most recent interview of Phil X.

I was not thinking about. Even with Bon Jovi being confirmed (which I was really not expecting), still doesn't make me very excited.

But I stoped to think a little...could be my last oportunity to seen them (even if it's not "them" in totaly). So, maybe I'll give it a try.

hahahahahahaha Good one Seb.

Would be good if by "magic" Richie could turn up in this gig...

jon-flp 02-01-2019 01:56 AM

100% confirmed now.

Yeah unexpected. They dont usually bring same artists on back to back RiR. Medina even said recently wont bring GN’R cuz they just played in 2017.

Anyway never been to RiR. How does it work? Everyone can get in the grounds morning to enjoy the activities? Or still a few hours before show like most concerts?

haha, I've never been in RiR too, but I know that the doors usually opens at 2pm. You can go and enjoy all the shows in "Sunset Stage" and the others activities. The main shows at "World Stage" starts at 7pm. The headliners normally begins around at midnight.

Some says that it's a good experience...I really don't know. The setlist will be pretty vanilla, but 100,000 people sing along together may be worth it.

Maybe because Live Nation buyed 50% of Rock in Rio last year...
Live Nation is getting every time more and more directly % participation in Bon Jovi concerts here in South America.

There will not be Pre-sale on Backstage (as always with Rock in Rio)
Tickets: April 11, at 7pm. www.rockinrio.com

Last time went there since the morning to get front row, band played at midnight IIRC

Know what time Rock in Rio close? I wanna walk around after the show. I dont wanna leave my queue lol.

I was in Sao Paulo 2017. The screams of mostly women are both awesome and terrifying. Like banshees. Lol

VIP worth it? RiR, no early entry since its festival right?

And were people respectful or they push their way forward? Can you leave your spot to pee or hard?

YOVANAfromPeru 02-01-2019 03:17 PM

VIP???
IIRC there was a section VIP with food and drinks, but that wasn't front row, it was way back or way to the side

in front row they were almost all women, yeah they all were very respectful, I don't think they would like to fight with me, hah!
bathrooms are close, and again people were respectful about spot too, most of the people went close to the stage later, 'cause like jon-flp said there are others activities.
However, if I go this time, I don't know about that front row again, the wait was too much

To be fair though; they also seem to be the only one capable of selling tickets over there. I tried buying Aerosmith and Guns N Roses tickets for shows in South America several years ago and it's very poorly organized with out of date websites and poor communication. I'm not a fan of LiveNation and the likes but if I had to chose I'd prefer them over anyone else over there.

Oh ok. So this year, you goin to RiR? Or just wait for Peru concerts if any?

Also, Backstage is worth it?

Web sites are a nightmare for residents, I can only imaging for foreigners...
Also it seems most of people here likes to buy tickets in person.

A concert in Peru? lol I don’t think so
I didn’t think about RiR yet

Backstage???
Do you mean the fan club?
‘cause I remember just having a wristband like everybody else in RiR, no VIP, no nothing, just a general wristband

And about VIP, I just heard today that there is indeed a VIP area: "camarote"; but the general sale is for general tickets only.

YOVANAfromPeru 03-08-2019 03:46 AM

meh, 7 is the VIP area:

I guess that it means that probably Goo Goo Dolls will be on Bon Jovi's day on rock in rio. That would be good!

Bon Jovi;
Dave Matthews Band;
Goo Goo Dolls

YOVANAfromPeru 03-11-2019 07:04 PM

Because Rock in Rio, Bon Jovi are adding another shows in "the course of the tour".
They ALMOST came here in 2017... so I'm glad this year they finally are coming to my country again.

YOVANAfromPeru 03-16-2019 12:49 AM

Fans that don’t live in Lima pick up their tickets physically the same day of the concert after buying them via web ‘cause Teleticket exists only in 3 cities of Peru. Price is even less than last time (around $150). The little crazy rumor in our country always was the JBJ gives us his cheap price but our setlist is not too long.

YOVANAfromPeru 03-19-2019 06:31 PM

There's a rumor of a show in Recife - Brazil?

There's a rumor about them playing in Curitiba too. Maybe with Scorpions, as they are rumored to play there aswell.

sweetmisery 03-21-2019 08:28 AM

My friend told me they wont release other Brazil dates until the Rock in Rio shows are sold out(which will take a day or two anyway).

Anyway, those who have been to Rock in Rio, what other things to do aside from the concerts? I heard theres a zip line, lots of food stalls, etc. Is it worth checking out or just stay in line to be up close?

Go to http://rockinrio.com/rio/pt-BR/informacoes
there is a map with all what they have, I saw people go in the zip line in the middle of the Bon Jovi concert

Notice how David changed from 95 to 40-50 rehearsed songs...

Maybe it will be postponed till Jon's condition is better

I'm not too sure that'll help, his condition hasn't improved since 2013.

Since they have already played 54 different songs on the first 5 legs of the tour I take this as the confirmation that we won't get anything different.
