i hope some videos end up on you tube...interesting that jon uses one more guitarist...is he the same guy from kings of suburbia?

Here: Jim Celestino on guitar, Carl Gentry on keys, Everett Bradley on percussion, + the usual suspects Bobby B. and Lorenza Ponce. "Start Your Own Revolution"? The graduation song?! |
this setlist if true shows that jon is only partially to blame for the static sets...with these two hands seems to be a song he really enjoys, perhaps the only bonus track ever that got played 3-4 times while half the wan album never got played once live
|
Again a Setlist that seems very personal. I like it :)
But what about this new Song? Did he say sth. about the Album? Will it be on it? |

Out of the standard 12 tracks on the album, only 2 never got played (Room at the end of the world, Beautiful World) the rest of them got played, Jon just dropped them when nobody gave a shit about them. These 2 Hands has gotten played at most if not all of his solo acoustic shows, he must be really proud of ripping off coldplay :) (admittedly, the acoustic version gets rid of some of the similarities... |
most of the album wasnt given a chance after richie left. you are right about the 2 songs still my point imo stays, its the first time jon plays a bonus track more than once instead of album tracks.

All I Want Is Everything has been played a couple of times while If That's What It Takes or Hearts Breaken Even never saw the light of the day live. |
I like that set list--especially Destination Anywhere, Whole Lot of Leaving, Superman Tonight (one of the few songs I like from The Circle), Make a Memory, In These Arms. Overall, it sounds like a nice show.

Why are some songs underlined? Any idea?
|
Every 3 song is underlined, I guess the songs themselves don't matter, it's just a trick to indicate timing, maybe a break every 3 song to allow the fans to ask questions (it was a meet & greet event) + to grant Jon's singing voice a rest.
|
In my cubicle, my setlist from March 8th 2010 (Denver) shows the first three songs underlined, then 6, then four, four, and the list ends with Wanted and Prayer (audible being "Runaway" in there)
Maybe it's break/talk points in the show? I've always wondered this as well. If the Bahamas setlist is any indication of Jon's current headspace, I am very excited for the new stuff. Even if he goes political again with "Be the Revolution" type songs, it's MUCH MUCH more relevant now than he was TRYING to make it be with "The Circle" and "WAN". Certainly in America anyway. Just a thought. |
did he say anything about richie, new album etc...?

Thanks OldJoy for wasting an entire page along with 15 seconds of my life that I'll never get back...
So is it safe to say that the new song title is "Reunion"? Not Start A Revolution? And if this is the direction of the new album, I'm not impressed. The fact that Jon is now including the song in his set is starting to scare me... I'm hoping that it's just the Not Running Anymore version of WAN |
You're welcome, RudeKipper! Surely you're aware that this thread is about the 2 Bahamas Runaway Tours gigs? i.e. the thread where to post the May 24+25 setlists, videos, photos and comments. Have a nice day! :)
There are dozens and dozens of pics but very few videos and close to no word about the Q&A sessions. It clearly shows what the fans who went care for the most, doesn't it? Quote:

I apologize for the snark; but Love For Sale is one of my favorites and that was just baaad! |

The only things I've been able to find out about the Q&A on Facebook groups is that Jon was "funny" and "cussed a lot." How informative. Several people have said they'll post more when they get home though. It seems most everyone is still traveling and doing quick updates.
I think the clips sound fine. I don't miss Richie's voice at all. I agree with Kathleen though--if you're going to talk through the songs, why go to a show? I don't even sing along at a show. I'm there to hear the singer sing, not myself or my neighbor. |

https://31.media.tumblr.com/2216f863...7Zl1rt1g9c.jpg The first 5 songs are played nearly continuously, then Jon will talk about heating up the place and asking Tico to do it (IML) then will play the next 5 songs in succession until Jon gets out of the stage in Phil's second solo and change for the acoustic set. At the end of Memory, he goes back to the main stage and does the last part of the main set (which includes the 32-minute continuous performance of Who Says, Sleep, and Bad Medicine). Then the encore. -------------------------------------- I'm curious if somebody dared to ask Jon about Richie or was it a taboo topic again. P.S. Someone should ask him about bringing back pre-Slippery songs that he can sing (like Shot Through the Heart). |
There were reportedly 3,000 people there Sunday night. Someone asked Jon if he did any social media and he said he didn't. That's the only new info I've been able to find so far this morning.

TO OWNER OF JOVITALK: While I hated the pop up ads on this site, the new overlay ads are much worse. I keep being directed completely off the site to the App Store to download something. The pop up ads used to disappear after the first page, now the overlay ads appear on every page. This makes JOVITALK u usable and I now hate coming here. Hope it is making you money because you are losing me. And just think what will happen when the "snow" returns along with the ads. Ugh
