April is very soon....doubt that's even possible. Maybe that's when they plan to record it? That would make a lot more sense...

With Orianthi on it, it will have a better shot at moving some numbers than his solo albums have.

I really hope that it comes into fruition and is a blues based rock album as they have said.

They said last month they have already written lots of songs. This should be an amazing album....can't wait for it.

I hope the "rocky" side wont take over the "melodic" stuff. I don't wanna hear long jams and guitar solos on an album, I want to hear songs like Seven Years Gone, Backseat Driver, Every Road, Walk Beside You etc.

Burn That Candle Down is kind of great live, but I don't want to hear a full album of it. I hope he sticks to the classic Bon Jov/Richie choruses with strong melodies.

I wonder how much involvement she'll have on the album.

Yes but we're all purposely holding back from sharing.

All that is known so far is

1. it's going to be a blues/rock album
2. they've already written a lot of songs together (so I don't think there will be any covers)
3. they said the album will be guitar heavy
4. judging from the piano pic, Richie is still writing while Ori is busy with Alice Cooper
5. they'll go into the studio in April, giving them about two months to record until Ori has to go back on tour with Alice at the end of May. They also have most of June to work together.

My guess is the album will be released in the fall in September or early next year.

Hopefully this means a tour of Australia when the album is released (if it is indeed released later in the year).

Anyway.... like I stated in the other thread. I think the album will be released in April as originally noted.

I don't think Ebbin has been following Richie around because he has nothing better to do. I think they are recording by day, playing live and having fun by night. They went to Australia so that chick could add some tracks to the album, not just to do a mini club tour (well, maybe both).

Dating as far back as late summer /early September, Richie was talking about another solo record. We got the demo Engine 19 which implies that they were in the studio even back then.

It's my assumption that this is going to be a Richie ONLY album. Orianthi is just adding her guitar to completed tracks. They might have a track or two together but that's it. I don't think they've spent enough time together to construct enough material for a full album.

It's a fun theory but Engine 19 was recorded way back when Richie was getting stuff ready for Aftermath's release.

The April comment was never a firm confirmation that the album would be out in April, its easy to misconstrue things. It certainly sounds like an album is in the works, just that the timescale is different.

I had a meeting with Ori on last Saturday in Dresden (well, I am blessed to know her personally for some time...) and she told me a lot. First thing: the album IS NOT GONNA BE RELEASED IN APRIL. Second thing: it'd be Richie/Ori album definitely, not only Richie's.
