Van Halen - New Tour

David Lee Roth sounds friggin' God-awful. He's shrieking his way through Dance The Night Away here. Horrendous. People complain that JBJ can't hit the highest notes anymore. Well, he's miles better than this.

Yeah as much as people complain about Jon's voice, he's really turned out fantastic compared to a LOT of other singers from the era. Sure his voice is quite different but he can actually sing songs instead of shouting through each song like other bands do, on top of the fact that Bon Jovi shows are sometimes twice as long as other bands. I saw Vince Neil a few months ago and it was a great show, but Vince's voice is a shadow of what it used to be and he only did like 12 songs, some of which his guitarist sang. I have no problems with Richie singing during shows because there's usually 25 other songs with Jon singing, but when you do a 12 song set you really better be on stage 100% of the time.

Dave's never been a good singer and he actually hits more high notes in that clip than he used to do. And it's mostly in tune as well. He's degraded for sure, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree this time.

That is actually not very good, but I have no idea of Dave's general live qualities. His clothing is awful too.

Was going to post something similar, and I dont see the need to compare him to JBJ. Big difference is DLR has never took himself too seriously on stage and just enjoys himself.

From what I've seen, heard, DLR wants to try and sing the songs in the original key and there is the issue...he's 58 and 28.

Duh, of course JBJ is better than DLR when it comes to singing, live or in studio. DLR is not a measuring stick when it comes to vocal ability.
