They are a unique metal/thrash/rock band. Still highly regarded in their own genre but mainstream enough to sell massive amounts of albums.

I'm not shocked at the number as they haven't had a record in 8 years. I'm more shocked that Bruno Mars didn't sell many more cds than Jovi the first week. He's extremely popular right now in the US.
