Farewell setlist
So let’s say they get Richie to come back for a farewell tour. What are they going to play ? I mean, pretty much everything from their catalogue is out of reach for Jon nowadays. I remember how we used to say: “he plays a lot of the LH stuff because it’s easy on his vocals”. Not the case anymore. Is Jon going to come to terms with the fact that they are a nostalgia act (at least for the final tour) ?
I guess nobody here believes the repetitive “we are digging deep through the catalogue for this tour” talk anymore, but considering it’s the final tour, could they actually do that ? What are your thoughts ? Cheers Eduardo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I'll bite. Here would be my ideal, somewhat realistic setlist for a farewell tour with Richie. By putting the songs in order I think it really enhances the setlist structure. Rush did this on their final tour and I loved it. I'd also only want them to do a limited run in stadiums, not a massive multi-year money grab (though that's not what we'd get). Ideally I would want them to do 50 shows max and only cover a handful of US states and European Countries along with Japan and Argentina/Brazil. Doing it that way would truly be going out on top and give all of the diehards a chance to see them.
1. When We Were Us (Or a new song that they write together) 2. This House Is Not For Sale 3. We Weren't Born to Follow/Superman Tonight 4. Lost Highway/We Got it Going On 5. Who Says You Can't Go Home 6. Have a Nice Day 7. It's My Life 8. Just Older 9. These Days/Diamond Ring/Something for the Pain 10. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night 11. In These Arms (David on Vocals) 12. Keep The Faith 13. Dry County/Bed of Roses 14. I'll Be There for You/Lay Your Hands on Me (Richie on Vocals) 15. Blood on Blood (With a video tribute to Alec) 16. Born to Be My Baby/Livin in Sin 17. Bad Medicine (with Shout) Encore 18. Bad Name 19. Wanted (Richie takes some of the vocals) 20. Prayer 21. Runaway Encore 22. Always (though this one probably won't be possible without "help") 23. Never Say Goodbye |
Only songs from This House and 2020. Richie will love it.

Stuff they would probably have to do on a farewell:
Runaway Bad Name Prayer Wanted Bad Medicine I'll Be There For You It's My Life Who Says Stuff they will probably do: Raise Your Hands Lay Your Hands On Me Born To Be My Baby Blood On Blood Bed Of Roses Keep The Faith I'll Sleep Stuff Jon will want to do: Lost Highway We Got It Going On Born To Follow This House Stuff they might do: Always These Days Never Say Goodbye acoustic would be nice.... So based on that..... I would say... Blood On Blood This House Bad Name Born To Follow Lost Highway It's My Life Born To Be My Baby Bed Of Roses Lay Your Hands On Me (Richie Vocals) We Got It Going On Raise Your Hands Runaway Keep The Faith I'll Be There For You Who Says I'll Sleep Bad Medicine Never Say Goodbye (Acoustic) Always or These Days Wanted Dead Or Alive Prayer Feel like I may be missing something obvious here. I know there isn't anything from 2020, and Jon might want to include something, but the album was pretty much the biggest flop of their career commercially, so I can see them ignoring it. |

There will never be a Farwell tour and Jon will never retire.

1. Lost Highway
2. We Weren't Born To Follow 3. You Give Love A Bad Name End of Show, because at this point either Jon or the audience is gone. Both due to a lack of vocals. |
