Borderline vs Edge of a Broken Heart
 

It's been said countless times how these two songs should have been on Slippery, but that's not what i'm here to discuss. Question is simple, which do you prefer?

Personally I like EOABH better but Borderline is so awesome. The keyboard synth riff is one of my favourite Jovi riffs. I love the whole structure of the song. Jons vocals are pretty awesome in it too.

Broken Heart has all round good lyrics IMO. I love the "Im on the outside, lookin inside. You're with him, who's the on the wrong side" bit. Smart words! It also has a good keyboard riff too.

For me, Edge Of A Broken Heart erm.. edges it :)

My vote for Edge. Why?
Hmm Edge is in my opinion song in very LOPrayer style but more "dramatic" in Jon's voice. With good promotion it could be huge succes.

Both are have "sad/depressing" style but Edge is more energetic.
I would give both mark 6/6 and I would change them with RYHands and SDisease on SWW.

I wouldnt get rid of Raise Your Hands. I wouldnt want to get rid of any track but if I had to choose it would be Social Disease and Id Die For You (bite me! :p).

Edge of a Broken Heart is a top 10 song for me. Borderline would be top 40.

EOABH by a long mile. One of the best songs the band's recorded, and would have been HUGE had it been on SWW and released as a single. Both EOABH and Borderline could easily replace Social Disease and Without Love and instantly vault SWW even higher as an album IMO.

Used to love Edge of a broken heart, but somehow it falls flat on me nowadays meanwhile Borderline has worked itself up to be one of my favourite songs. So...Borderline :)

Borderline all the way for me. edge is just one of the worst songs they have ever done, its so dull!!

Borderline gets the vote. The chorus gives me chills every time. Edge is still a killer track though !

'Borderline' by a long way. Great song. Meanwhile, I think 'Edge Of A Broken Heart' is simply dreadful and don't understand the love for it.
