Two Story Town and One Of Us is one that keeps coming up in every topic like this. I mean, yeah, they have the same chord progression, but so do thousands of popular songs from the better part of the last 40 years. I understand the comparison, but why is it always these two that people point out?

I always thought the melody from "These Days" is very similar to that of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run".

Of all the rip offs this is the one that actually repulsed me. I remember hearing it for the first time and realising how low Jon had sunk to. Sums up that rotten album for me.

I always thought that Jon ripped off Eagle Eye Cherry with Two Story Town:

I always thought Thats What The Water Made Me sounded like (well the guitar) We Could Be Heroes by Bowie.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that as well. From the moment Crush was released this was pretty much the first Bon Jovi song which people on the internetz started discussing as to how similar it was to One of Us. I reckon it's probably the same kind of feel to the song, the same guitar sounds and all of that. I never felt they were as similar as people say they are, but maybe that's just me?

I'm not so sure about this one, both songs were recorded around the same period but in completely different locations. Although the intro and hook is similar, I very much doubt Jon having nicked something of this song. :)

This one is great, thanks! I'm suprised how similar this stuff sounds. It's the keyboards and the vocals combined that make it a bit too coincidental for me. I'll add the other suggestions to the list as well. :)

Some French guy also told me that a song from WAN sounded very similar to this French hit song but I don't have enough time on my hands now to compare and not enough courage to listen to the whole WAN album - dinner time! :D

Yves Duteil - Prendre un enfant par la main (1979)
