Nah I don't think it's intentional, but it's very, very similar.

Yes, this one has always bugged me, too. Ever since the eighties. I think this one might even be the most evident of all the comparisons listed on this thread.

I always used to think the most obvious one was YGLABN / If You Were A Woman until I saw the interview with Desmond where he said it was all deliberate. The chorus melody was supposed to be epic but for some reason the Bonnie Tyler song had very little (if any) impact on the charts. I’m glad DC finally got the chart topper with Bon Jovi, then.

I apologize to all if it had been mentioned before. I don't remember seeing it and I just recently heard the similarity.

Weird how the production and arrangement on BAD sounds a lot like what BJ would do with KTF (the album). As much as I love the band's 80s stuff, and as little as I care for U2, it can't be denied who had a more "future-proof" sound in the mid 80s.
