Seb, I've got news for you (and yes, I'm gonna bring him in the topic):

Jacko has also ripped off other artists (both in music and in dance). Unfortunately, eventhough I'm a fan, I can't present to you all the evidence simply 'cause I don't want to lol. Difference is he made more money than all those artists from what he did. Same goes for Jon & Richie.

Both Jacko and Jon have lied about being original. I'm sure other artists have claimed the same.

Big F'in Deal

Music is an Evolution!

No one creates anything. Everyone takes from someone or something. They change it, make it cool and then onto the next person.

it's not just the chord progressions
Bounce uses a different chord progression than IML. It's the same chords, but in a different order. Wouldn't quite work in terms of harmonies.

I think WGIGO also uses a different progression.

Also, Lift Up Up sounds quite a lot like one of the tracks towards the end of KTF... was it Little Bit Of Soul? Haven't listened to both in forever, but I think that was it.

Also, it seems Complicated's chorus was written by Max Martin first and foremost, since the "it's alright, it's okay"-part was reused by him for Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" ("it felt so right, it felt so wrong"-part - melodywise).

And I agree, I always felt BTBMB sounded quite a bit like The River in the chorus.

I'll bet you 100 dollars you can't make a list of 20 songs of any other artist similar like the one I made for Bon Jovi.
There's always Modern Talking.

In the words of Bono from U2, "Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief", Bon Jovi's influences are always present in their songs:))

Led Zeppelin - the wanton song

Riff copy & pasted.

FYI, I checked and Novocaine does indeed have the exact same chord progression as MCR's I'm Not Okay! ...different key, but same progression.

How about Put the Boy Back in Cowboy / Fat Bottom Girls?

A lot of the stuff mentioned so far is a pretty big stretch I will say, I always thought Thief of Hearts was a Tom Petty soundalike though
