So they've finally realised it's not cool to have a guitarless band.

They will always be a band for upper class people lacking any soul in life, sorry.

That's what bugs me. So, they do what nobody else does - realize they don't sell as many albums as with guitar - go out and add a guitar. Isn't that sell-out? They were unique, now they are one of many...

what exactly does that mean? I really like their debut, but I am neither upper class, nor do I lack soul, if I may say so...

probably because they nicked it off of them :-)

i dont really dig the new tune. it just doesnt seem to do much or say anything.

maria i dont think theyve done it to shift more units, they sold a ridiculous amount of records over here.

yes, but compared to other artists breaking through at the same time, they did pretty poorly. Ie. Killers, Franz Ferdinand, etc... (at least over here)

Nah I disagree I just think it shows they can do the more rockier songs too. I dont reckon the whole album will sound like this one song, im def hoping for another bedshaped :)

They come over incredibly posh and sheltered in interviews. The singer's face looks like he's a human version of a badger. I went to the t-shirt stand when they came on before U2 in Munich last summer.

You may not be upper class or souless, but it seems to me the majority of their fans, from the UK anyway, are the people that truly believe Hope's and Fears was innovative. It wasn't though, was it? A blend of every band you've ever heard before, with all the good bits taken out. I like my music like I like my orange juice, with bits in. Not commercial toff music. They're sort of prune juice.... not even cranberry.

And when it comes to stage presence, it simply doesn't exist.
