She Don't Know Me

Can anyone tell me the last time this was performed live? I assume it was a while ago, does anyone know why?

Do you mean She Don't Know Me?

It hasn't been performed live since probably 86. It's the only song in the catalog that Jon didn't write so he has said he will never play it again.

Looks like the last performance was Casper Events Centre, WY on 13th June 1987.

I honestly don't believe that setlist since (especially older ones) on setlist.fm are often full of shit. They played it in Japan because the song made them quite popular over there, but I'd have to check if it was done in 1987 again or only in 1986.
The setlist in the USA was very static in 1987 and they didn't introduce Shout to the setlists until early 1989, so it doesn't seem legit. Also Twist & Shout was only done in the acoustic way up until 2000 or so, so adding it as the penultimate song would have been odd, especially since it usually introduced Never Say Goodbye.

What interests me is that I read they did a cover of Crimson and Clover in Alpine Valley in 1985. Probably acapella in a similar way like Don't Walk Away Renee. Always liked that song and would love to hear it with the band's vocal harmonies.

A good point. Then the last 100% confirmed performance was Kobe International Hall, Hyogo, Japan on 16th August 1986, although I'd say it's likely they did on the Japanese shows after that - up to 25th August 1986 in Sapporo.

I did mean She Dont Know Know Me, apologies. I didn’t even notice I’d done that so if any mod is able to amend the title to this?

Would any of you like to see it performed again? I think I would have liked to have seen it performed when Richie was still there and Jons voice was better than it is now, maybe mid 2000’s?

I think there are better songs on that album to play live prior to She dont know me.
Just my opinion.

She Don't Know Me pretty much is the one song where I'm absolutely fine with it never being played again.

Agides 09-22-2018 12:39 PM

Theres definitely better songs, no doubt about it. I just think it would have been interesting to hear played live in the last decade or so. Maybe even done acoustically or something.
