Hooray! Never thought I'd get to see Journey live (albeit without Steve), because they aren't that big here in Australia.

Don't care too much for Deep Purple if I'm being honest though.

Anyone planning on going? I Wonder how much tickets will be.

I won't be seeing them together, but I saw Deep Purple live this year and am going to see Journey (with Night Ranger and Loverboy) in December. It's actually the other way around for me; I'm a huge Deep Purple fan but I've never really had much of an affinity for Journey. Deep Purple still rocks live even if Ian Gillan's voice isn't what it used to be. I'd love to be able to see both of these acts in one night though.

Deep Purple are one of those bands that I probably know a lot of their songs, I just dont know they sing it haha. The only song I know off the top of my head is (of course) Smoke on the Water.

Im guessing Journey are doing the tour with DP because they would barely sell any tickets on their own here in Australia. Deep Purple are the headlining act.

I love Deep Purple but I wish Journey plays with some other AOR bands like Night Ranger, Foreigner or Loverboy.

But they are! :D At least in Canada anyways. They're playing alongside Night Ranger and Loverboy.

LOL yeah too bad it's not the same bill in Australia.

The only time I ever cared for Journey was during the 5 minutes that Jeff Scott Soto was their singer. Beyond that? Meh.

Black Night? Child In Time? Highway Star? Woman From Tokyo? Perfect Strangers?

Just to name a few. It's like they invented Hard Rock, but never had many commercially big hits. They are an album band with a very interesting history and back catalogue. Even though they are old, Ian Gillan's voice is shot and Jon Lord no longer plays the Hammond, they still have that certain something. They always used to jam a lot and still do. I'm a huge fan and have seen them many times, am actually going to a concert this month.

I wouldn't mind seeing Journey on the same bill. Having seen them with Alice Cooper, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molley Hatechet in the past, this time they are touring with Edguy as Special Guest in Germany.

Now there's a lineup I'd love to see. I've been wanting to see Whitesnake for a while. And Ian Gillan and David Coverdale in one concert? Awesome.
