Like the late princess it's named after, Broadway's "Diana" will forge its own trail.

“Diana," which features the music of Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan, will film a performance at the Longacre Theatre without an audience to be shown on Netflix prior to its new opening night of May 25, 2021.

Producers have worked closely with Actor’s Equity Association on all safety protocols for the Netflix performance, according to a statement from the production.

“We speak for the entire company when we say that we couldn’t be more excited to finally be able share our show with theater lovers everywhere," said the "Diana" producers in a joint statement. "Though there is no substitute for the live theater, we are honored to be a part of the quality entertainment that Netflix provides its subscribers worldwide.”

The Broadway League has announced the suspension of all shows until Jan. 3, 2021.
