I prefer the album version of IWTBL, rather than the demo. The final version is worded better. The wording of the demo version make it sound cheesy.

I like the little acoustic bit in the HAND demo, but I think it may have been overkill had they left in the final. I don't mind either.

Agreed on both points!

The acoustic breakdown in the HAND demo is really nice, but the final version has a better riff and solo. Lyrics I don't remember too much. Might have been better.

"I'm gonna live, do more than survive" > "I'm gonna live, I'm gonna survive".

It switched the focus of the blame as well. The album version was "I had a roof over head, shoes on my feet" etc while it was originally "YOU put a roof overhead, shoes on my feet".

Was there ever an earlier version of I Am floating around? I really like that song.

The HAND demoes weren't meant for public consumption anyhow though as it was an earlier version of the album. Although knowing what they have it would be nice if they released B-side/demo collections online.

I agree 100% with you. They could release demos online like they did with Gimme Some and Do It To Ya and every die hard fan would be happy, I know I'd be. I'm not expecting them to release every single song they did but they could release a whole bunch of them which they have in high quality like the HAND demos, Sex Sells demos etc.

I just don't get why Jon doesn't do this. If I were in his shoes I'd be very happy to repay the die hard fans.

Nope, as far as I remember it was exactly the same as the original version.

How they released the Bitter Wine demo? They could arrange something like that to release more songs.

I remember when it came out in 2004 with a service called AXS. It was like...I want to say $10 a year and more demos would come. I know we got Gimme Some and an additional BJ TV about the making of the box set. Soon after the whole thing imploded and everyone was refunded. I'm not sure if it was a third party site that did this or the band pulled the plug.

I think they really should put them on a service for however many dollars. Piracy isn't that big of an issue for things like this. If the alternative are the songs are just going to sit there then why not? Maybe it's more trouble than it's worth for them with royalties.
