Has Jon lost the Elvis fan vote?

My response: Quote:
And legend has it that when a high-level Hollywood executive was informed of Elvis' death, he responded: |
I don’t think whoever responded gets what he meant by “fat Elvis.” At the end of his life, Elvis was manipulated into touring when he was not well. He was influenced by people who took advantage of him by making him think he could take uppers to do his job and downers to sleep. Elvis was a people pleaser and it wound up killing him. He was not happy or anywhere near healthy when he died. His health, family, and career all ended in a depressing mess, even as the King of Rock n Roll. Jon is taking lessons on what not to do by seeing how one of his idols died.

Is it worth vilifying Jon now for something he's said for probably a few decades?
|
Apparently, the stan feels that Jon vilified Elvis by merely implying that he had ended up fat and unhappy. And as I said, learning from (and teaching about) the mistakes of others -- especially those who you look up to -- is the opposite of "insulting" them. (P.S. The use of the word "stan") was not a typo.

Well, I’m sure you set Stan straight.

Update
Apparently, I set the stan straight enough for her to privatize her Twitter responses -- I rest my case, LOL!

2019 Update: This thread can be closed, LOL: ending up as the next "Fat Elvis" is no longer something Jon has to worry about!

I don't get why is so hard for people to keep their same weight. Maybe you all are right, and some of us keep living in the 80's (in our own minds) >_< jajaja.
PS 1 Is Phil X losing weight too? https://www.instagram.com/p/B5F2FArg_it/ PS 2 Shanks was slim in Peru, ops O_O |
