I've been spending my money on tickets to see Grace Potter & The Nocturnals over the last year instead of on a certain other band. They played at a festival over the weekend and were joined by Warren Haynes for this rather fine Led Zeppelin cover -
I wasn't in Connecticut for this performance, but in September I'm going to a two-day festival that GPN puts on in Burlington, Vermont. Gov't Mule is on the bill for one day, so I'm hoping for another collaboration with Warren there. Grace has also performed with Gov't Mule on occasion, too, so that's also a possibility. It's always nice to have some live music to look forward to. :D |

Kansas was big when I was in high school (yes, I'm that old), but I wasn't much of a music fan then. I loved Carry On Wayward Son, Point of Know Return and Dust in the Wind which got a lot of radio play, but I don't think I'd ever heard this song. Thanks for the link! |
My band (if you could call a 33 person, no instruments barred rammy a band) played at a big festival here over the weekend.
Got to see Nile Rogers and Chic own the full thing and also saw one of the worst performances I've ever seen a pro band put in courtesy of Dexy's Midnight Runners. Appalling. Also got to see both KT Tunstall and Amy McDonald murder some Bruce. Amy's was just a very MoR, totally irrelevant cover of dancing in the dark that sounded like anything you'd hear in an open mic and KT Tunstall did something from Nebraska. I'd given up caring at that point and her half arsed attempt at it certainly didn't change my mind about her set. Anyhoo some nice chap recorded our set and here's one from it. I'm bouncing around in the background with a white T and a djembe drum to the right. We've actually been doing this one for ages, it just so happens to have turned up in an ad recently: |
I love me some Train. And an appearance by The Hoff only puts this video into an instant classic!!!

Loved watching that Muse gig, really enjoyed their album and tour this year, was great fun seeing them at the Emirates & Horse Guards Parade, I very much like the new album, Follow Me and Panic Station are brilliant. That album and Fall Out Boy's new one are my 2 favourite recently, and they are how contemporary rock should sound- grown up yet still relevant |
