R.E.M. breaks up

I've always been an R.E.M. fan. Sad to see them go.

This makes me sad :( Never got to see them live, some great albums and songs, one of the best :)

I loved them, esp. live.I'm glad that I at least got to see them twice.

I assume their last few albums have tanked then?

Classic band, they'll be back.

the last album tanked but i think the one before it did pretty well, i was pretty shocked reading the news anyhow!

I know many people loved them as band, personally I never could appreciate them. Still it was an iconic band and seeing them split up makes me realise I'm getting old as I more or less grew up with them being around on the radio, for the better or worse.
