Maybe I'm being picky here

Question:
In the early begining of the bon jovi legacy did the band play at collage campus or small gigs like that?I am trying to see if a "friends" story is true.

Answer:
Jon and some of his early bands did do college campus dates and small club shows. Bon Jovi as Bon Jovi didn't tour campuses - the band was formed when there was already a record deal.

But they're WRONG!!! I know for a fact that Bon Jovi has played on some college campusus: Mississippi State Universty on the SWW tour and University of Tennessee Knoxville on the KTF tour. I'm pretty sure some of the old boots I have from '84 were from college campuses. I also specifically remember Jon played at Ryder College for one of his DA acoustic shows. I would guess they played other college campus arenas too. So, even though they didn't "tour" campuses, they have played them.

No point to my rant. I just get annoyed by misinformation.

I personally have seen them twice on a college campus. They played the University of South Florida Sun Dome in Tampa in 1993 on the KTF Tour and again in 1995 during the These Days Tour.

I think they are just trying to say that they were never a "college" band.

Maybe you should be hired as an Oompa because it seems you know more about Bon Jovi than they do. *Slaps Oompas wrists*

Yeah, it doesnt say they didnt play them, just they didnt make it an official tour as such..

Knowing more than BJHQ is not that difficult, they give wrong infos all the time.

I don't think that's misinformation so much as not full information on the topic - which is somewhat vague. There seem to be lots of venues on college campuses. I don't think that's what the point of the question was. The question submitted seems to be asking about playing colleges before the band hit it big (like someone claiming he saw Jon Bon Jovi at a college before he was really famous and a bet is riding on it.) The freaking video for Wanted Dead Or Alive was at the University of Illinois venue - or least part of the footage is - right? Didn't they start the Bounce tour in State College, PA - isn't that whole town/venue connected to a university?
And Sambo-Chris - what is your hard-on about BJHQ. You might want to see a specialist for that. It's a really nasty edge you have. Might be more serious - get to a doctor before is spreads.

Sambo-Chris 02-12-2004 10:53 PM

Why? It's not me who denies everything all the time, it's BJHQ. And this is a fact. Sorry, but I don't like people who lie all the time. Maybe it's a mistake by me but I prefer accurate and correct infos and not lies.

Do you think a doctor can help me that I want to hear lies in the future? If so, maybe I really should visit one. Even though I'm not sure if I want it. I don't see any reason why I should prefer lies to the truth. Maybe you should see a doctore that stops you seeing BJHQ as the Gods and the people who say always the truth even though it's proven that they don't

I don't need you to offend me. It's a fact that BJHQ tells a lot that is not true. Otherwise tell me for example who I've seen in September 2002 in London since BJHQ said that BJ won't be there, just a few weeks prior the concert. I've seen a band that looked very much like BJ and also played BJ-songs. Was it a coverband maybe?

Or in Kiel last year where BJHQ said that it won't be an acoustic show even though the press already wrote about it. What band did I see in Kiel playing acoustic that looked exactly like the BJ-members and played BJ-songs?
