I've been playing the 2 CD Greatest Hits in my car for the last couple of days and I'm not happy with what is on it. It has most of the good stuff, but a lot of things are missing!!!

I don't think they should've done the different track listing for the different countries and the single and double discs versions. I would have done just a straight 2 CD and released it everywhere with the same songs. And it would look like this...

DISC 1:

If you were one of the record company 'suits' and the band couldn't be bothered designing the CD, after they had recorded the new songs (like this would happen :)), what order and what songs would you put on the CD/s? (I know this sort of thing has been done to death, but we all have lots of fun making it.)

My basic points for this tracklist:
- utilises all the space available on each CD, 35 songs in total
- represents every Bon Jovi album
- puts emphasis on post-95 stuff - all albums from 1995 on (excluding LH) are featured with THREE TRACKS. Purpose: 1/to acquaint the casual fan with something not available on CROSSROAD. 2/ to give those tracks another exposure to a vast majority of people. 3/ to prevent the "nostalgia" effect.

This is what I consider to be an adequate compilation which would fit into the "greatest hits" context.

What do you guys think? I am eager to read other suggestions as well.

I like what you have done!!! 'Only Lonely' how could I forget that? LOL. This sort of thing has to be a 2 CD. It can't be done with 1. I hate that 'Keep The Faith' isn't on the single disc edition. It's crap.

Did you know you can get 90 minutes CD's? I made a 4 disc compilation based around Cross Road/Greatest Hits. Def Leppard's 2nd Best of consisted of their original Vault album with a new 2nd disc of deep cuts.

Bon Jovi have released more hits than the Lepps.

Disc 1 is Cross Road extended from 14/15 songs to 19 and incorpates 4 extra songs. Disc 2 and 3 are hits from 1995-2010 and hits that didn't (criminally appear on Cross Road). Disc 4 is a deep cuts album. Some of the tracks are rare single edits. The reasons I have these track listing are the same as prayer_84... oh and it sounds damn good to the ears.

P.S. I used 90mins CD-R's. If you have Nero burning rom you can use Overburn which allow you to burn more data on a CD-R.
