February 26, 2018 - Hard Rock Hotel Vegas (JBJ Solo)

It's been labeled as a "solo acoustic storyteller show".

The best thing about these Runaway shows is the small bits of information we get from the Q&A and Jon's speeches during the show. That, and a performance of a rarity or two (ie Lonely).

Apart from that I really have zero interest in these kinds of things. Not to mention the price.

$2,095.00 per person Single Occupancy
$1,845.00 per person Double Occupancy (This Package is for 2 people)
$1,545.00 per person Single Package (No Hotel Option)

steel_horse75 10-11-2017 12:16 AM

Ouch that’s a fair whack on the wallet

I know the price includes the room and some sightseeing, parties, etc., but I wish it could be done for less money and just the storytellers concert, but that's not the concept. Instead they want to provide an entire experience.

I recently heard Matt in a podcast talking about the this entire "experience" and that JBJ is just a part of it. People return for another Runaway Trip because of the friends they meet and JBJ is just a conduit.

It's much easier to inflate the profit margin when you bundle many things together, some of which people don't really want.

If Jon wanted to make the same money just from the concert alone, he would look really bad with how expensive the ticket prices look, but when you combine the trip, it looks OK.

steel_horse75 10-11-2017 08:56 AM

I think it’s out of order that a millionaire charges these prices.

Are the profits going to his Soul Foundation and not just Jon and company? I don't know.

i dont want to be negative but imo these runaways trips, may be a fun experience for those able to afford them BUT look like a bone that jon threw to MAtt. He promotes them like crazy, looks like he is more involved and was interested into expanding with other artists and sports. the whole thing looks amateur...especially the photos of jon they use...in the official site they are much more careful..

on a sidenote runaway tours-bonjiovi sauce(even if some profits go to charity)-and the whole second rate clothing line dont help

BJFan99 02-27-2018 02:35 AM

Could there be a possibility of Jon singing something off Destination Anywhere in this show again? Maybe Every Heart at least?

Rdkopper 02-27-2018 03:50 AM

He sang Color Me In
and an acoustic version of Living In Sin which sounded pretty decent

Rdkopper 02-27-2018 03:55 AM

And now a horrible version of Who Says

Rdkopper 02-27-2018 03:56 AM

Bad Name (TLFR Version)

MarcDLV 02-27-2018 04:09 AM

Do you have a Link?

Rdkopper 02-27-2018 04:27 AM

It doesn't even matter what songs he sings anymore. Every song sounds equally the same. I don't even listen for enjoyment. I just hold my breath hoping for a somewhat decent vocal. I am Simon Cowell when I listen to Bon Jovi live music.

And to think there was a point in time during the late 80's to early 90's where I would have paid thousands for a show like this... I actually did. It's called Count Basie.

liljovi93 02-27-2018 07:47 AM

Only songs I've seen JBJ played so far are

Color Me In
Living In Sin (Acoustic)
Hallelujah
You Give Love A Bad Name (TLFR)
Who Says You Can't Go Home

Seen 40 secs of Color Me In. Sounded decent.

That's nice, something different at least.

Curious to see whether I Will Drive You Home was played in original key. It's so rare for a Bon Jovi song, but it's so easy vocally it has to be.

liljovi93 02-27-2018 12:59 PM

No European tour dates in 2018. JBJ confirmed last night.

Let us hope this finds its way on the internet!

Phew.
Saves them the embarrassment of playing to half empty stadiums

Yes. Madison Square Garden 2005 with Jon's last proper scream :D

Saw this coming. I still see this as a kick in the teeth to those UK/European fans that have supported them through the years....hard not to, to be honest. They were glad of us when the US didn't give a shit...

symbeline 02-27-2018 03:47 PM

I'm confused. Wasn't this already confirmed for *logistics* reasons?

Thinny 02-27-2018 03:55 PM

By who? I might be wrong, but as far as I know no ones said anything official about Euro dates, apart from maybe Matt, who I don't class as being an official source, due to him being wrong so often...

symbeline 02-27-2018 04:09 PM

By nobody and that's the point. They were supposed to tour Europe in May per Jon's words, and it turned into a "we had some things arranged but I decided I wanted to spend the summer in the beach" which is when Matt chimed in with the lame excuse.

You are right, nothing official was said but it was clear anyway by their words and the sequence of events.

symbeline 02-27-2018 04:10 PM

Color me in wasn't good. Which is a damn shame, I love the vocals on that one.

Dreading to hear IWDYH

Burlhouse 02-27-2018 04:31 PM

Colour me in and Living in sin from yesterday.

Living In Sin - quite solid, he lowered the chorus melody like in Kiel 2003.
Who is the guitar player btw? Is it Phil?

Carl Gentry. And Greg Mayo on the keys.

DryCounty 02-27-2018 05:10 PM

Actuallt a solid Living In Sin. I wouldn't mind a full band version of that on tour.

bonjovi90 02-27-2018 05:11 PM

They should hire those for the real tour as well. These have been the best harmonies I've heard since Richie had left the boat in 2013.

Agree. The guy doing the harmony in the verse sounded very, very good!

Captain_jovi 02-27-2018 05:42 PM

That was a really nice arrangement of Living in Sin.

Adam D 02-27-2018 05:45 PM

That LIS was excellent. I'd take that on tour in a heartbeat.

I haven't been lucky enough to hear it live.

He said his football dream was over.

I’m sure many of you will find this disappointing since you can no longer create conspiracy theories that he’s only touring to make money to buy a team.

unfortunately becky there are facts that jon worked the band too hard in order to gather some more millions, wan album and tour...
i truly hope this is over but i think jon has small hopes and wants to keep a low profile because it is a closed club and his last attempt was unsuccesful.
ps. i hate to say it but many times i got the impression jon was at least equally hurt by Richies departure and not owning a football team, i cant prove it but in many cases he mentioned the 2 situations in one breathe

Well, now that he's finished with football, it's logical that he does not want to do big tours and travel Europe. One less motivation.

Wouldn't the fact that now that he has given up his football dream and confirmed there are no European dates in 2018 prove it wasn't a conspiracy and it really was mostly to milk the machine as much as he could?

To quote the man himself: "I got what I wanted, I paid every cost"
