Keep the Faith = Pain Lies on the Riverside
 

Yesterday I was listening random songs on Spotify and started to play Pretty Lies on the Riverside by Live and the beginning of the song caught my attention because is very similar to KTF. I went to check and the song was released in 1991, so it was 1 year before KTF.

Anybody else already noticed the similarities of the songs?

Yes there even was a video about it on Felipe Fontoura's channel. He made around 25 short videos of really obvious similarities.

The drum beat, especially with the maracas, I can definitely hear it. The guitar rhythm follows it pretty closely (just like Richie's prechorus part, with his white strat). The fast funky bass.. there are alot of similarities.
