How, just how would anyone today come to this conclusion considering live concerts are the only way for artists to make money nowadays?

What’s economically unprofitable for artists (and probably also unsatisfactory for many) is music streaming. Except for maybe the biggest streaming forces out there artists only make very little money off of Spotify & co. and with physical record sales being far from what they used to be the only way artists can really make money nowadays is by touring (and selling merch).

Streaming releases may be nice for the consumer due to instant accessibility and financial affordability, but they suck for artists who want to make money.

And even that percentage is getting smaller big new-ish acts that don't have the bargaining power of a Metallica, McCartney or Springsteen. And with ticketmasters "dynamic pricing" model, the seller and record companies are gonna be begging all legacy acts to stay on the road until they all are playing with one foot on their grave and another on the stage.

The words and sentences people use to try sound smart when making points that are factually wrong.

I'll eat my hat if this happens. I'm calling BS.

I don't think they will play Glasto, but Richie saying that they have been talking is just another clue that something is going to happen next year. I think it will.
