I don't get this either. I know the situation in the US is terrible but I don't believe we will have to change our lives drastically. Yeah, it will be different but more in the kind of awareness that such things happen and probably will happen and that people need to be prepared (governments more) to react to such situations. It doesn't mean we can't ever gather in larger crowds.

They are able to play small venues during promos. I think it's more about their health and ability to tour. They're getting old. On the other hand, I don't see them stopping. If Roger Taylor can drum being 71 this year, plus sing a good portion of the vocals including lead ones, why couldn't Tico. The shows can be shorter (Queen's aren't on the other hand) more duties can be put to Everett, the setlist could be paced cleverly for Tico or anyone to rest a bit. I think the second one or maybe the first one in row in need of rest is Jon anyway and he is the youngest (of the original ones).

I think album releases get posponed because of distribution difficulties and mainly people staying home instead of working. We need food and medicine more than Bon Jovi's new album realeased physically.
It makes no sense for Jon to delay it further than necessary. If the tour is not gonna happen this year, he won't delay the album to increase the sales to the next year. At least the title prevents him from doing so. So we'll get it, not in May but not that long after, I guess.
Only if there was a chance to make a small theatre run for promo in the fall he could wait for.

We are in the 21st century, I do not understand why it is delayed by physical copies.

I think it's probably more about getting promoters. It's going to take time to see how people are going to respond to large gatherings when they come out of this. There are some ppl who have said they wouldn't even consider it until there's a vaccine. Yes it's serious, but I personally think everyone has overreacted and, at least here in the states, the media helped create widespread panic bc drama is their bread and butter. Now it's like some ppl don't want to go out of their house until there's a vaccine and magic pill to treat it.

This is just me thinking out loud; but until people decide it's safe to go out again or whatever "experts" they listen to say it's safe, promoters aren't going to risk scheduling large venues - and I'm not even talking arenas necessarily, much less stadiums. You know it's bad when churches here in the Bible Belt didn't open their doors for Easter Sunday. That's something I never thought I'd see happen.

Maybe when you intend to release it both ways, you want to do it together. Jon is oldschool and probably prefers the physical copies. But it's rather the record company dictating those decisions. If there were money put into making the CDs, they want them to be sold instead of left behind because the only people willing to buy it have done so online.

Because in the current situation, no one gives a shit about that album.

Worst part is...he's not wrong. His pride is too big to stop doing arenas and it could be awhile until bands are able to do that again. He's always said if they can't do it on the level they're accustomed to they'll just stop. Lord knows the shape the band will be in in TWO YEARS.

Jon resting his voice for two years, rethinking his priorities, doing some writing cause he WANTS to, maybe calling up Richie, Shanks and Billy Falcon sometime... who knows. Like on the macro scale, with people having said that "something needs to change" forever, and an on the micro scale, with the band... it could do some good in the end.

Like result in a better first single.

''The outbreak has affected his band and his family. Son Jake Bongiovi, 17, is “100%” recovered from a COVID-19 scare, and Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan and percussionist Everett Bradley are recovering from the virus. “Everett had it bad,” Bon Jovi said. “He's about 85% on the road to recovery.”

People have given you about 12 good reasons why. Please consider that this isn't the most important thing right now when people are sick and encouraged to stay home. I get you want the album but you're coming across as a bit tone deaf. Not everyone orders from Amazon, not every grocery store sells cds. It's not a great idea to sell physical copies of albums right now, hence why so many artists are delaying them.

21st Century, give me a break.....

EDIT: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...vid-19-973870/ Here's a great read on it.
