I'm definitely not expecting anything like this for either of the 2019 shows, but hopefully we'll get a few more rarities than the last few shows of this leg. And a decent public stream!

2019 Setlist: TBA

Now this was a f*cking proper setlist. And it was only 8 years ago!

That's just made me sad seeing that set list.
Will never get anything like that ever again.

I won't be there on the first night I'll be there on Sunday and I'm hoping everyday that he's in a good mood like he's been the past few shows. I'm really bummed we won't be getting the nice stage I think the screens look really great and add alot but we'll see I guess :)

ticos_stick 06-14-2019 12:55 AM

That was my last Bon Jovi show. I went both nights. Night one was good but night two was something special. Jon wasn't taking any prisoners that night.

I remember walking out of the venue into the mild summer night and saying to my friend that I'd be happy if this was the end. As a These Days fanatic seeing Damned and Hey God live in the same show was totally unexpected and both performances were great.

Little did I know what was to come.

Sums up my feeling of the 2011 shows, both nights were brilliant. The show in Slane in 2013 didn't come close.

Looking ahead to this weekend I don't think my expectations for a Jovi show have ever been as low but I am prepared to be surprised!

Damn, you forget how good the European, Australian and South American shows were on The Circle tour.

steel_horse75 06-14-2019 10:06 AM

Id love them to open with Hey God, Good Guys or even Rockin In The Free World.

THINFS just does not work as an opener for me. Its such a dull lifeless song and its a real mood killer after all the screens have built up the band coming on.

PS - Safe to say we are never getting anything like that above set list again. Ever.

Jonty 06-14-2019 01:23 PM

About the stage, I would be disappointed not to get the full package as technically, we are paying ticket prices for the venue, band, singing, screens, stage etc, the same as other countries so I can see why some would be pissed off if this is true.
However, the screens appear to be what makes the stage really cool this time (Last time at RDS was the half moon and the movement which highlighted certain songs, obviously we had the amazing car stage but lost the sets as Richie vanished so I just hope the screens are there for those great affects).

so tomorrrow I am heading with low expectations which is a shame. I can imagine a good crowd and Jon being the showman but the voice issue will likely appear....only two nights to recover for this one. I hope for more songs but in truth there are other rare songs he could add in without wrecking the voice. Something off Bounce would be good! Last time at RDS the snippets were great fun but they seem to have been dropped now. Critics are going to be out, yes, but to be honest, there is very little Jon can do other than mime to solve the voice issue. I will sing loud as always, maybe drown Jon out lol, but in the end I will applaud the guys for the efforts on the night no doubt. They are longer in their 20s/30s, expectations have to change and I can accept that.

Jonty 06-14-2019 01:24 PM

do we have any timings for the show?

"Supporting band Manic Preachers will be playing at 6.15 pm and Bon Jovi will start playing at 8.10 pm"

I'd advise anyone going to wear a coat as the weather isn't looking too summery for the weekend.

What the f*ck is happening with all the rain in Europe this summer?!

A very good question! Last year we had a hose pipe ban at home, this year too much water!!

When is everybody going to the concert especially the gold standing to get a half decent spot?

We're flying over from Liverpool in the morning for the gig. A question about accessibility as I'm looking for some advice on what to do. My girlfriend is now 6 months pregnant, which we didn't know would be the case when we bought standing tickets. She is suffering quite badly with her back over the past 2 days so we're not sure what to do.

I'm assuming I would have had to have had bought accessibility tickets to use that area, even if it was just to have a seat for her between bands while waiting around?

Kevs 06-14-2019 08:04 PM

Yes Jon's voice is not the same, yes he may move less, play the guitar less, yes Richie has moved on and perhaps my excitement has been tamed by reading all the negative comments here but I will turn up, I will sing as loud as I can and I hope to be able to get the front man going. The RDS can be special but it takes two to tango. If us fans go in and sing along it can be a very good night. The set list should have a few changes over the 2 nights.

The big thing pissing me off is no early access

LeaJovi 06-14-2019 08:29 PM

Another day at the office so let's get it over with.

Dry County will appear here. Bye.

Leave her at home
She’ll just ruin the day with her nagging.

That last night in Dublin really was something special. What a set list. Probably the best Jovi concert I ever saw.. Heading to Dublin (gold circle) today with lower expectations for sure. Not the same band I've been following for years but still excited that I get to go and listen to the music I love and sing and dance along like I have done for years. Always a great atmosphere in Dublin, who knows - may we be pleasantly surprised..?!

DestinationJovi 06-15-2019 01:05 PM

3. Born to Be My Baby
4. We Weren't Born to Follow
5. Just Older
6. It's My Life
7. Blaze of Glory
8. We Got It Goin On
9. Captain Crash
10. Bad Medicine / Gloria / Not Fade Away / Pretty Woman
11. Love's the Only Rule
12. When We Were Beautiful

ETA: Nevermind. They played at Slane Castle in 2013. The OP can look up the setlist and edit his post if he wants to have the actual prior setlist in post #1.

This picture was taken outside Bruxelles just off grafton st. They were in a music store on Aungier st so he might have bought the guitar there and walked back that way or he might have brought it with him to the store for some reason.

I can't see Jon being able to last for a setlist that long anymore, could still remove the crap from the main set and put some of the encore songs in there.
