Hm, I cant get this song, is he talking to a girl that he is in love with and she wants only to be a friend or?

This part confuses me:

He's saying he's her friend and won't be anything other than her friend. I listen to it under the assumption she just put the moves on him. It's an "I love you like a sister" sort of song.

I really like this song.

That first part just gives me shivers every time...

Who/What says the friend is a "she"?

I say the "paint your masterpiece" is a reference to Tico's coming out.

Not a bad song at all, not my favorite but it's defantly a good song.

So Tico hit on Jon and that's who he's singing about.

OH. That makes so much sense.

This is now my favorite song.

After 20 years of shaking his oh so lovely ass right in front of him, Jon was bound to be hit on by Tico one day or another. Think about it.

I'm glad they've managed to stay friends.
