Kanye West has claimed that Coldplay are ‘more talented’ than The Beatles.

West made the comments in an interview in which he was discussing the differences between American and British music.

Kanye said that although US artists are more succesful, it is the UK that always creates that “very special band”.

Kanye told The Sun, “We have had amazing bands like Nirvana and Guns N’ Roses but it’s the British who have had the cream with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones setting the standard”.

The rapper went on to praise British act Coldplay saying “I love Coldplay, and I honestly think they are on the same level as The Beatles. In 30 years, when Coldplay are old men, people will look back and say, ‘These guys were more talented than The Beatles’.”

He also added that Chris Martin is a “genius” and is “on the same level as John Lennon”.

Kanye releases his new album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” on 22nd November.
