I didn't know the Admin was visiting earlier. But the ads are all gone for me now.

Popunder/popup ads are disabled for the moment to allow for better experience at the release of new BJ album. They will be back soon though, with tweaked ad network settings.

Porn ads should definitely not be appearing, but it would be great if someone would send a screenshot of such an ad (with visible browser address bar).

As for virus alerts - are you sure those are actual alerts from antivirus software and not ads themselves? Ads for certain software look like virus alerts (for example Mackeeper on Mac).

Thanks for the ad break due to the new BJ album. Actually I'm sure those virus alerts are just part of the ads to get you buy Mackeeper, etc. At first they had me fooled, but I finally caught on.

I'm not good at doing screenshots myself, but I do hope if those porn ads come back other people are so you can keep them off permanently!

Since the membership is not in my currency I guess I will have to put up with the ads when they return.

Paypal does the currency conversion for you automatically. And USD:EUR exchange rate has been very good for Americans for a while now.

Appreciate the temporary disabling of the ads. And hope the tweaked settings will be an improvement.

The porn ads are disturbing. And really, so are the ones that lock the screen and advise you to call a phone # to fix the problem. Those ones you have to ctrl/alt/delete to get rid of.

I realize ads pay for the forum, but it's a real shame that this long-existing Bon Jovi community has had to resort to ads with such sleazy content. :(

I hadn't thought about anything like that working! Thanks for the information :)

I was definitely getting porn - not that I get that offended but I would just as soon not. My malwarebytes program has blocked everything on this site though it sure slows things down. It does indeed differentiate between a virus and malware and both types have been quarentined from this site. I have to assume that both malware and a virus were here.

I have malwarebytes, but mine says it is only for malware not a virus.

I have Malwarebytes premium - it specifically says real time protection and malicious website blocking. I had almost one hundred pages blocked from visiting this site. Fortunately it does its job.

Pop ads have been reactivated, however for the time being (testing for 1-2 weeks) they should be pop-under only (i.e. they open under current window or in new tab) and not pop-up ads. Also, they are from an ad network that's not been used here yet. Hopefully ads will be less annoying/problematic and equally efficient as previous ones.
