Good day.

It´s a topic obviously subjective, so nobody is legitimated to talk in terms of "it is" or "it should" but instead "I think" or "I regard".

There has been songs to fill the albums, average songs and superb songs, and obviously songs between those grades. And everyone would do his own clasification.

Nevertheless, there are common points at least amongst people who write here, that yes I know, we shouldn´t take as to very representative, but at least with a minimum criteria, so when somebody is in his opinion far from the average, it can be taken at least as a doubtful piece of data.

For me the 7 next great songs from TD onwardas were, cronologically:

Real Life
It´s my life
Say it isn´t so
Right side of wrong
Love´s the only rule
What´s left of me
Blood in the water

So yes, I regard Blood in the water as one of the best songs from TD.

Real life, Say it isn´t so and Right side of wrong, with more or less obvious cinematographic refferences have some of the most inteligent lyrics by the band ever in my opinion, what with a superb melody as in Real life, or falsete type voice kind-of-beatles as in Say it isn´t so makes them both to my personal podium in thes 26 years almost 27.

I love BiTW, Think it's the best song on 2020 by a mile. That being said, I don't think it's fair to say that there is only one song that is the best they've done since These days. I can think of many amazing songs they've put out post-These Days:

Real Life
Next 100 Years
Just Older
The Distance
Undivided
Right Side of Wrong
We Can Dance
Satellite
Open All Night #2 [The Box Set One]
Bells of Freedom
Welcome to Wherever You Are [Yes, I know a lot of people don't like this one. But it's always been a fave of mine.]
Last Man Standing
Have a Nice Day
Dirty Little Secret
These Open Arms
(You Want to) Make a Memory
Any Other Day
Lonely
Walk Like a Man
Love's the Only Rule
Superman Tonight
When We Were Beautiful
Learn to Love
Room at the End of the World
The Fighter
With These Two Hands
Into the Echo
A Teardrop to the Sea
Blind Love
Fingerprints
Who Would You Die For?
I Will Drive You Home
Luv Can
Blood in the Water

That being said, my all-time favorite song released by anyone in the Jovi camp post-These Days is Richie's "Seven Years Gone".

I just find the 'Satan always used to love to say he wasn't real' line cringey and kinda' funny. Makes me think of Satan in South Park for some bizarre reason [emoji23]

Luv Can is the best song on 2020 IMO but I wouldn't say that's an achievement. The bar is pretty damn low.

It's likely a reference to https://quoteinvestigator.com/2018/03/20/devil/

About Blood In The Water, I like the song, although the lyrics feel forced at some points. I wouldn't consider it the best post-2000, although I can say that it feels like a highlight on this album.
