Audioslave has set "Original Fire" as the first single from its upcoming third album, titled "Revelations". According to a label representative, the song is expected to hit radio stations around the middle of July. There's no official release date for the CD yet, although that is tentatively planned to arrive sometime in September, reports Blabbermouth.net.
Audioslave recently canceled a summer tour of Europe in order to wait until the new album came out. Guitarist Tom Morello told MTV.com a few months back that "Revelations" sounds like "Led Zeppelin meets Earth, Wind & Fire." The group began recording the new disc while still on tour late last year in support of its second effort, "Out Of Exile". Recording was finished in early spring, with a total of 16 tracks laid down. Scares me.

The bastards WILL tour the UK after releasing this album, and I WILL be there ... else someone's gonna get hurt!

The new album apparently has some pretty good songs, but also some really bad ones and is overall pretty much an Aerosmith rip-off. And Chris Cornell looks like he had some botox injections.
I officially lost all hope now :( |
I'd much prefer an Aerosmith rip-off over the first album. The second was not bad, but still not good enough to make me buy it. So I hope the third one is finally a really good one, yet the first single makes me believe otherwise. Damn!
Oh, also, Brendan O'Brien's producing sound is not noisy enough for my tastes. The two Offspring records he produced have a very flat guitar sound. |
:O Both albums rocked!!

Matter of opinion I guess, I loved the first two AS albums too, but I think the bands ability to grow might be a bit limited
Heard Original Fire on the radio yesterday, dunno how much I thought of it. Typical Morello guitar solo and uh I can't remember much else about it. But according to the radio guy, he didn't like it first time he heard it but it grew on him the second time :S |
