It's not about the repeated shows.

Of course I'm talking about the small die-hard fan base. I don't think the casual fan would bother listening to Bon Jovi Radio every Friday.

There is a big difference in releasing a show on the radio and then having it leaked on youtube, from a show that has been leaked for years and now it is released on the radio.

In any case, that's the feeling I have. I'm just disappointed with the live shows. Of course, everything could change this Friday... but right now, my dreams are pinned on the future Box Set.

That's not what im saying. I'm just making the point that they have managed to find and release the most uninteresting material in their entire vault.

As far as "fresh blood" goes. It's not going to happen. These past 10 years have not been able to captured a newer generation. Not totally Jon's fault per say. Sure his grey hair, lost voice and lack of his right hand guitarist contributed to it but music has changed so much that unless you're married to a Kardashion or found some reality star loop-hole, you're just not appealing to a younger generation.

However the hair, voice, and lack of guitarist have contributed to the loss of many casual fans. Jon's melancholy wine promotions have had as much excitement as Obie picking out shows to play on SirusXM.

But why wouldn't they? If you know the hits, maybe saw a show on the Bounce tour and lost touch, this is completely aimed at the casuals and not the diehards. A causal fan won't have a problem if the show has been on Youtube, why would they be looking this stuff up or even know about them.

How are people still fooling themselves into thinking this should be aimed at the 1/10th and not the 9/10ths. It's a band that has constantly kicked sand in the eyes of the diehards. I'm with you about the box set because I believe that WILL be aimed at us.

That’s not entirely true.

It’s true, that they haven’t managed to capture an entire generation or have proper mainstream success again, but there’s certainly a significant amount of teenagers out there who only discovered the band and became fans in more recent years.

You see it on social media sites like Twitter and Instagram (and probably also TikTok, although I can only assume that) - there has been a very noticeable increase in fan accounts run by teenagers during the past, let’s say, 2-3 years. It’s not the IML level of capturing a new generation, but the band still seems to be capable of reeling in “fresh blood”.

Also, I don’t think it’s fair to generalize the younger generation as “they’re all only interested in reality stars anyway”, because from what I’m seeing there are plenty of kids out there getting into rock (and other types of music that aren’t just “the artist is married to a Kardashian”) and the mainstream interest for it is clearly there, considering how many established artists are changing their sound to something more rocky and how many newcomer artists are incorporating rockier elements into their music as well.

I think one of the big things that are keeping Bon Jovi away from mainstream success nowadays (obvious issues like Jon’s voice aside) is just the fact, that they’re old. A lot of kids nowadays probably just think of them as that old band their parents (or even grandparents) are into and they’re too young to have grown up with the radio/media presence and success Bon Jovi still had during the 2000s and early 2010s.

It’s probably also a marketing issue. I guess with the revamped social media presence the band has had in more recent months they’re trying to appeal more to younger people, but I guess we won’t know for sure if it’s working until the band releases new music.

They haven't been a cool band in quite a while. The whole 80s retro thing - Blaze of Glory is played during the current season of Cobra Kai - doesn't help them too much either since they've done their darndest to distance themselves from that scene.

If you are a teen now, they aren't associated with "that cool period people talk about" and instead have always been on the radio with MOTR stuff. I guess - I am not sure what the radio situation's like in whatever region you are all in. I sure heard more What Do You Got-like stuff on the radio than, say, In & Out Of Love.

well I was at the Packers match in London last Sunday and the DJ played Prayer during the game and it sounded like we were at a Jovi show with everyone singing it...just without the band and Jon screeching! :-)

Played it a few times , hoping it was a grower.... but he more i play it the worse it gets ! I get Jon needs to write for " him " but in the last 10 years or so the fan base has badly declined because we are not buying into the new direction hes taking the band.... 3 decent ( ish ) rockers per album and the rest being a south side Jonny/ Springsteen wannabee songs.... But give me another NJ, hes said he could write one with his eyes closed , DO IT THEN ! Just wish he had the balls to do an album like Skid Rows new one which is phenomenal , 10/10

Judging by the vocals, the instrumentals, the song style and the circumstances, I am pretty sure that this was a song from Burning Bridges.
