Agreed, might be the distorted power chords in the chorus.

Damn it, I said "appreciated chords" when I meant "Arpeggio". Thanks auto-correct.

Always "extended live version solo": https://www.instagram.com/p/CDZTh77ojNN/
I like it, fingers crossed that some solo on the new album is good...

I think this shit is garbage. Because of the many, many bends his solos have absolutely no flow. His timing is off so so many times all throughout the lengthy solos he does and his tone is rubbish. While Sambora told a small story in his solos all Phil X can come up with is incoherent babbling.

Salaam Aleikum,

That's exactly what I think of his extended guitar solo on We Dont Run, incoherent and boring. I never thought that John Shanks' studio version even fit better despite being shorter.

The guy thinks he's pretty cool, but I'm still waiting a great memorable guitar solo in his perform.

Richie is a songwriter and a composer while phil x falls in the shredder category...
i like the studio solo for we dont run though

To be fair, there was no drum track. But yeah, he was off beat quite a bit at times. The start of the solo was fine, but the "jam part" was basically random licks. Quite a shame since he is a super likeable guy.

I'd thought his studio solos (solo? He did Knockout, what else?) were the way they are because he basically had to wing them in the studio instead of having worked on the song from the ground up, but it seems that kind of style is just what he does. We'll see how he does on the new album where he was "involved from the ground up".

Solowise he's done Knockout, Come on up to our house, Born again tomorrow, All Hail the King, Walls and When We Were Us.

EDIT: Scratch that, since Shanks does Knockout live I assume that's him on the album?
